Sponsored Banner Accounts
Our sponsored banner (468x60) ads use the Japan Banner Exchange. Banners are rotated and shown on all members sites (approximately 50), including all pages of Japan Reference. Sponsored banners do not need to show banners on their own website and have a customizable guaranteed number of impressions a month (see "pay per impression" below).
Pay per impression system
JREF offers a pay per impression advertising system. Our rate is a very competitive 1 yen per 10 impressions, i.e. 100,000 impressions for 10,000 yen (approximately 90 US$). You are free to set the limit you want (eg. 25,000yen for 250,000 impressions) with a minimum fee of 10,000yen per month. We can guarantee up to 2 million impressions a month through our Japan Banner Exchange network (see above).

Buttons & skyscrapers:
Ads on Japan Reference are divided into "index pages", "categories" and "forum/gallery/shop" as follow :
Content pages : choose 3 or 10 content pages in the following sections : Practical, Culture, Entertainment, Society, Language and/or Glossary. For example, Long-term accommodation, Japan Sightseeing Guide or else Japanese languages schools in Tokyo.
Forum, gallery and shop : for technical reasons, only the 468x60 banners are available for the forum, gallery and shop.
Ads rates for "index pages" or "1 category" are the same.
It is up to you to provide ad images or text. We offer four ad sizes. Buttons can
be up to 15Kb (Button), 30Kb (Horizontal Banner or Vertical Banner) and 65kB (Scyscraper) in size.

Priority Links
The Japan Directory offers the option to mark your website as "Priority Link".
Priority links are displayed on top of all other links listed in a specific category. If priority links
match search queries, they are returned on top of all other search results. The enhanced graphic
display of your website ensures higher visibility and more targeted traffic to your page.
Newsletter Ads:
Advertising in email newsletters has a very high response rate. The
JREF Bulletin is currently
sent out to our members twice per month. Newsletter ads can be as long as 280 characters (approximately
50 words or 4 lines of text). Clickable email addresses or hyperlinks are added at no extra cost and are
displayed as extra lines
