In avex we trust

In avex we trust,

And why shouldnft we when it comes to their deep pool of music talent? I feel that I shouldnft have to elaborate due to the masses of ayu(mi hamasaki) and BoA worshippers out there, along with the legions of Do As Infinity, Every Little Thing and Namie Amuro fans. Well the pool is prepping itself for new talent with the additions of groups like SweetS and angels and solo artists; Aiko Kayo, Ai Otsuka and Asuka within the past year.

Aiko Kayo broke into the scene with last yearfs winter hit single, gHitomi no Naka no Meikyuuh also being the opening theme for the avex produced anime, Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito. Her upcoming second single, gAishitene Mottoh, which many have already sampled as the ending theme for new anime, Tenjo Tenge, is expected to draw in more to this newcomer.

For those into a more wholesome brand of lyrics in their music, Ai Otsuka and Asuka are right from the breed of singers/songwriters. Ai Otsukafs recently released debut album, gLove Punchh, has been in the top 5 among albums in the Oricon chart so far throughout April.

Female string duo, angels are making waves within the avex Velfarre Cyber Trance mixes and the avex produced anime, Area88.

SweetS is a group of five girls currently no older than 14 years of age, already with a few hit singles, popular music videos and a self-titled mini album under their belt. In look and style, they are very reminiscent of the early days of former girl band, SPEED, with their poppy tunes mixed in with a dash of R&B flavor. Testament to their quality tunes can be accredited to BOUNCEBACK, who is also famous for providing music for J-Pop stars such as: Ayumi Hamasaki, Nami Tamaki, dream, BoA, EXILE and Hitomi Shimatani.

Years and albums from now, how this group of young artists will stack up to the current top avex artists can only be determined by fan appeal, which has been proven to go a long way. In the mean time, we may as well also be on the lookout for this yearfs crop of newcomers as the J-Pop industry continues to flourish, especially for avex, in which we trust.
