The well known web-site;
QUIRKY JAPAN HOMEPAGE(http://www3.tky.3web.ne.jp/~edjacob/index.html)
--> i find this web-site; fun, intresting and full-of-ideas
--> also here is someone who has an attitude but sees the good side of everything, eventually

haha, interesting.
I read the what's normal link. quite quite true :D
Ed's page is hilarious! That's why his site was Site of the Month (http://www.japanreference.com/pick/) in April 2002. :)
The "qUirKy jApAn hoMepAge" is quite impressive, and I particularly enjoyed reading what was written in the "Buddhist Sculpture in Japan" section. I found it fairly accurate, and should serve as a quite informative resource for the beginner to Japanese Buddhist sculpture when temple going.

I also really enjoyed reading what Ed Jacob had to say about staying in a Japanese Shukubo (Buddhist Temple Inn). While my wife, her sister and her mother really enjoy getting away for a couple of days to an Onsen (hot springs spa), I would prefer to attend a sesshin at an actual Zen Buddhist monastery instead of staying at a Shukubo or an Onsen. I have done all three (Shukubo, Onsen and Zazen Sesshin), and all were wonderful experiences for me.

Another great one was “How to appreciate Shrines and Temples.”
