What console to get?????????

Alright, recently i got a laptop that has a 2.2 ghz processor.with 512 ram uprgadeable to 1 gig..
But my birthday is coming up soon so i might get a Ps2,xbox,or else a gamecube.. i've heard gamecube sucks and i think it might..... so should I aim for ps2 or xbox? i've heard the xbox will be obsolete soon and will be coming out new in feb maybe... and ps2 in next years october... would it be a wiser choice to get a ps2 because they have more games coming on the way and i won't have to upgrade so quickly? what do you think? :ramen: maybe just games for the laptop?

you like final fantasy series and a large choice of good games? get PS2...

for the main games, you will get them on all 3 consoles anyways eg Fifa, soul calibur... cant think of any more, but there are loads now... the 3 distinguish themselves rarely:
X-box with halo (available on PC), project gotham, Jet Set Radio Future...
PS2: final fantasy X and X-2 (ve important) and generaly more "animeish" games
gamecube: luigi, mario sunshie, ikagura, metroid, zelda, pikmin (good game) and many others...

if you ask me, you have too look for specific games you wanna play, that are allready out preferably, look for like 5-10 cause the rest will be cross-station or mediocore games...

you need to weigh up the benifits of both the X-box and PS2.
Personally i prefer PS2 because it has more games, and more games suited to my tastes. Which beats the X-box HDD and graphics improvements in my opinion.
But it really depends on what you value more.

Well, I owed the Game Cube and although it has some great games and the controlers are comfortable to use, the game range isn't so great. I traded mine in for the PS2, I have a huge assortment of games from PS1 as well as the newer ones. The XBox has some great power and nice graphics, but it seems to me that it's just a glorified PC. If you bump up your home PC, pop in a kick azz video card and lots of Ram, well, there you go the HBox...

Depends on what kinds of game you like, but if you're into everything, I'd go with a PS2. Plus, there are tons of import games, and you can easily order a CD-swapper instead of modding your PS2.

I didnt mention many games for them... only my xbox is well stocked....
anyways: I have all 3, and all of them are good. my friend has all 3...
xbox is good cause you can mod it to run linux... move downloaded movies to it and watch them on tv with no hastle involved...both of us prefer X-box, but only because of the fact that you can do more than just play games... otherwise they are pretty equal... its all about which special soul calibur character you want (spawn is crap, but sadly I have him)...

Star Wars: KOTR, Morrowind... hmm, they're on PC as well, but yeah, they're good games...

there's vietiful joe, and number 2 soon!!!! need to buy that when it comes out.

anyone who is a gamecube hater, hates anything that doesnt have pools of blood and mass slaughter (which is the basis for many western shoot-em-ups)... they should look in to play eternal darkness to find out that gamecube has all the potential to diverge into "that" field, but just chooses not to; that game is scary. :shock:

i would only get a gamecube if they made a remake of earthbound.... other than that.. slaughter the gamecube. I also think since xbox is owned by microsoft they will later come out with software of their games for the computer. this would eventually eradicate the reason of having an xbox. Perhaps i am wrong on this, although when xbox2 comes out, this will be a possibility for them to sell games to people who wish not to buy an xbox. ..... they really should remake earthbound i heard a rumour that they might. :relief:

i am learning towar gamecube or xbox because gamecube you have games like fire emblem coming out.but xbox is my favorite because you can actually hack into your xbox because its microsoft and it has kicking games like halo

I own an XBOX and I would definately have to say, as much as I argued in the beginning about XBOX being the best and all that.. PS2 is by far the better option, take a trip down to your local video game rental store and check the game rental options... XBOX has 1 line, shared with the gamecube and PS2 packs a good 2 1/2 lines of games.. Besides its also a Japan made console, if that adds anything :P

The X-Box is in no way a shoddy system or anything. The PS2 has pumped out some amazing games that have already topped most X-Box games. Either way, does something this frivolous matter? A true gamer owns all 3 systems, and enjoys them for what they're worth.

I suggest you should buy a Playstation 2 or a Gamecube. If you already own a computer then you shouldn't buy a XCrap. :D

I have all the major consoles. The XBox is superior as far as graphics and sound is concerned, however there aren't very many cool Japanese games on it - Ninja Gaiden is probably the best. I don't think there are any Japanese RPGs for the XBox.

The GameCube has the next best graphics, but since Nintendo decided to use such a tiny disc, there's usually not as much voice-over. You can get a lot more of the cutesy kid type Japanese games on the cube. There aren't many RPGs on the cube, but Tales of Symphonia is an excellent exception to that.

For sheer bulk of console Japanese goodness, the PS2 is the best choice. Graphics aren't as good, though they're still excellent, and your selection of games can't be beat. If you enjoy Japanese RPGs then this is the system you must have.
