LOVERS a.k.a House of Flying Daggers

It opened in Japan this month. I hear that "Hero" is doing well in the States. "Lovers" was made by the same people, and it stars Zhang Ziyi (from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, and Rush Hour 2) and Takeshi Kaneshiro. I watched it last night and was fairly impressed. In a nutshell, it's like Romeo and Juliet in Feudal China, or something. A little over-dramatic, but hey, it's a martial arts movie.

I've been hearing a lot about this movie this whole summer...I can't wait to see it. It's also premiering at the Toronto Film Festival this week. "Hero" was okay, it also didn't do that well in China I heard. A lot of critics gave "Hero really bad reviews" It is one of Yimou Zhang's flops I guess.
