Modern Japanese Houses

I have to do a project on modern Japanese houses for my Asian Architecture course, and I was wondering if anyone would happen to know of any sites that would happen to have floor plans and side views (elevations) of modern Japanese homes.

If possible, I was wondering if anyone could provide any information on how modern Japanese homes are laid out and why they are planned out and constructed the way they are.

Not sure if this would be helpful or not, but Sekisui House and Daiwa House have some of the information you are looking for on their website. They have floorplans, photos, and information about the kinds of houses they build on their sites. They are both in Japanese.
