Im heading out to Tokyo next Saturday to work there for 2 weeks. Ill be staying with a family over there so I purchased some small gifts. Im not sure how many people are in the family so I got....

1. Brushed Aluminuim Union Jack cufflinks - for the man of the house
2. Amber rose silver broach - for the ladie
3. British mug with mini/union jack etc on
4. Tin of Caramels
5. Tin of English mint cake
6. English scenery calender
7. Book of classic British cars
8. Chocolates of British cars
9. 007 Playing cards

Are they OK?

They are all nice gifts! The caramels and chocolate would be well received I am sure! :-)

Are they OK?

I heard that caramels are the sign of death for the Japanese, either that or used as a laxative, I can't remember which. They like cufflinks, but will refer to them as "kafurinku". Also most Japanese people have seizures when they see the union jack so you may want to check on that in advance. The playing cards are ok, but you're lucky they're not 004 playing cards, because the number four is very unlucky.
