Well, with the impending doom of my original X-Box, I decided to take it to a game shoppe that would allow me the chance to trade it in before the console flatlined alltogether. Got 88 bucks for it towards a new one. Also got Breakdown.
Breakdown is genious, in my opinion. Everything is seen from a 1st person perspective and the enviornments are quite realistic. Because of the first person view, you can look down at your body and see your feet, arms, chest and even your bum if you were able to look. :)
As you open doors, climb ladders and even simply look at things, the camera responds accordingly adding to a greater sense of immersion. Things got so real last night when playing it that I was quite frightened. In the early portion of the game, you get drugged and someone helps you over to the toilet, where you proceed (in first person mind you) to hork out everything you have in your belly. I saw that and remembered all the keggers I went to in college. That was very scary.
But all silliness aside, it is a treat to see a FPS come out of Japan, especially one that is this immersive. I say give it a shot.
