Japanese researchers advance robotics

Japanese researchers appear to be increasing robot technology at a rapid clip. Honda's cute, four-foot-tall ASIMO robot is designed to be non-threatening and people-friendly. Honda has now upgraded the machine so that it can recognize faces and call out people's names. Honda will rent out this machine, and will undoubtedly improve it further.

Rent out? To be cannon fodder? Or maybe advertising?

I think my grand-mother would have a fit if something like that answered the door.

From the other pictures i've seen, i thought this thing was huge.

OT:
Does anyone know if it's true whether Will Smith will star in the motion picture of the Asimov-novell "I, Robot"?
