Hey there!
Any news about Namie Amuro? What is she doing currently? I ve heard that she married and became pregnant a while ago... But I havent found any information about new albums. Is she not singing anymore?
BTW: If you know a good picture gallery, let me know. She is really gorgeous, right? :-)
Cheers,
alex

Well, she released her last single "I Will" in february and that song was also present on a singles collection, which she released march 13.
That's about it as far as i can tell.

Hey Twisted!
Thx for help!
Have you ever listened to her new single? The last I have in my mind (and my collection) is "A Walk in the Park" - which is really great. But I am still not sure, if that was just a beautiful dayfly or she is really a great musician. However, a star she is already anyway, right?
Cheers,
alex

Namie Amuro has been lucky to have great producers around her. That made her the star that she is. I'm not sure whether she would have made it this big without those producers.

She is really cute! And so is her baby son. :)
Here's her official site

And her husband's (TRF)

1.) she got knocked up ... shotgun wedding I bet by Sam the main dancer from TRF (another komuro family production)
2.) got married and dissappeared at a prime time for her
3.) ayu and hikaru replaced her
4.) didn't her mother get run or something ?
5.) empty comeback
I do believe she's still "happily" married.
Twisted
Apr 22, 2002, 02:51
Yeah, i believe her mother got run over by her uncle.
I don't agree with that empty comeback. When she was big, she was just another 13 in a dozen girlie singer to me.
Now i feel she has matured and I actually look forward to her next release.
Yeah Amuro Namie is real good in some some songs
my personal favs r "sweet sweet 19 blues","you r my sunshine","walk in the park" etc etc
And shes got married?! mmmm...any idea how old she is?
And BTW, can anyone enlighten me on ayumi`s best of the best till now. I have just heard one song of hers, "a song for XX" and it was pretty good.

Check her full profile here (http://www.jpopmusic.com/amuronamie/). Born 1977, that makes her veteran among tarentos. :D

Hope, she will tour through Europe anytime - too sad, that popular Japanese stars like her travel so seldom :-(

Namie Amuro is one of the innovators of Japanese pop. Her attitude, style, voice, and looks set her apart from the beginning. Not to mention she has some of the most brilliant, catchy, upbeat Japanese songs of all time. Her recent days have not seen the success of her earlier days. She is still very popular in Japan, she is just growing up and seems to be walking away from the high-energy dance world she helped create.

Probably doesn't help that Komuro is in a slump or taking it easy recently.
Twisted
Jun 11, 2002, 00:29
Are you sure about that? He's currently releasing a lot of Globe material. I don't think he has much time to produce other artists right now.
I don't believe that TK had much to do with her recent material anyway. That's probably why she sounds different, which, in my opinion, is a good thing.
moyashi
Jun 11, 2002, 10:08
err well, hehe ... you're definitely right about the Globe activity. But they're not much on TV recently. Possibly TK is trying to widen his standing outside of Japan like in Europe and in Asia.
For the last 2 years or so Tsunku from ShaRanQ has taken the lead in group production recently (well using TV exposure as the comparitive). But, all the "morning / musume" groups have slowly died out. I wonder who's next as a family producer? Gackt?
hmmm ... that reminds me. Who is doing amuro's work? I thought it was TK. oh well.
LOL ... I should stop using TV as the measure and start doing research.

Her official website doesn't say who produced her last two singles "Say the word" and "I will".

arrengement Kazuhiro HaraEKeiichi Ueno

avex label ???
for hiroaki (http://www.wind.sannet.ne.jp/keitachikaco/hiroakihayama.htm)
and it seems he was part of D-Loop (http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/dloop/) ... a short lived group.
I love Nami Amuro. My favorite song of her's is "Can You Celebrate?" Has anyone heard it?
Twisted
Jun 25, 2002, 05:59
Yeah, i've heard it. It's a typical TK-song. It's good, but a bit overdone and too lengthy.
My current Amuro favorite is "Think of me". Not sure why. I heard it again last week and i guess it was the right song at the right moment.

Don't worry, I was just fooling around. No bad feelings against Amuro, I also like her :balloon:
Young girls who imitate Amuro's quite unusual fashion style are called "amura".
Don't know how this happened, there are some theories going around.

I like her, I adore her in Hide and Seek and generally she is one of the few I can appreciate Hip Hop/R&B from.
Namie is one of the first female artist that got my respect by more then just being a singer. She's an inspiration..*dances to Can't Sleep can't eat I'm sick*

IMO, both of these artists are very talented so this is not an Amurara vs BoA post (and no poll). But if you decide you like one better than the other, that's okay, too.

The "New Look" video is no longer available so this is a replacement. It's "White Light" in keeping with spirit of the season, which comes very early in Japan.

You know, you can find every track of Namei Amuro's Best Fiction CD on youtube. I'm not sure that's a good thing--she worked hard to make so we should be buying it to listen shouldn't we? Well, anyway, here's one of my favorite songs from the CD, Baby Don't Cry.

Amurarara has released a new song called "Wild" that's quite fitting for the queen of J hip-hop.
Her commerical for Coke-Zero featuring the song also fits her image. She says it's "kakko ii."
This is her new song with slides from the CM.

Amurara is finishing up her Best Fiction Concert tour that began last year by the end of this month. So far, she's performed this concert in front of 450,000 fans. [So 450K time avg ticket price of say 6K yen on the conservative side, not to mention album sales--man, that's a lot of yen!]
Here's a video of her two and half hour performance in Yokohama Arena before 10,000 fans.

It's a recent collaboration with a group called Ravex, perhaps newer than Wild. FYI, the Ravex album includes collaborations with other artists such as BoA.
