Don't mention it

If you have windows xp, go to control panel, regional and language options, click the languages tap, and check the install files for east asian languages box. once you're done with that, you'll need to reboot, after that go back to the languages tab, click details, click add, then select japanese. Don't forget to click language bar at the bottom and check show language bar on the desktop.

After the bar shows up, you'll need to switch EN to JP, after that, you'll need to select what you want to write with, katakana, or hiragana. You'll use hiragana to write Kanji.

What is your input mode set to, needs to be either katakana or hiragana.

Don't need office xp. When you change EN to JP, click show language bar, input mode is the 4th one from the left.

i am not sure, but i think he means the language bar when he's typing in the text window. if that's the case, the answer is yes. it says "Hiragana"
edit: okay, i read the other thread. never mind

that is correct. the one with an "H"
and regards to another topic posted by op, right-click on the document, choose "encoding"
then choose one of the Japanese selections. the hiragana should show up fine then? good luck
