Need a little help with school

Hiya everyone thats reads this!

I'm doing some research for my English 126 class and I cant seem to find anything good.
Well the thing is we have to do some research on the authors of our liesure books that we are reading (own our on) and I've only found one thing on him and it's not enough.
He's the authur of the Intial D manga's. Shigeno Shuichi. I tried, but only found the books, even looking up the author only.
So if you can help me, I would really appreciate it.

Graphic novels are real books--just because most american comics are devoid of literary value doesn't mean Manga is. There is the possibility that your teachers will be too short-sighted to realize that though...

I actually like Initial D, but let's be honest here. Basically the only purpose of the plot is to come up with any excuse to have as many car races as possible. In that sense, it has about the same literary value as a porno flick.

how about doing it on Kazuo Ishiguro, the author of The Remains of the Day?
the book is only like 250 pages long, doesn't take all that long to read, and your teacher will love it, since it's an ultra-english tale of a butler at a grand house called Darlington Hall.

I'll go on record as saying there are SCORES more Comics with high literary value as a percentage of all comics compared to manga of literary value as a percentage of all manga.

I also agree that doing a Manga/Manga writer as your subject isn't a great idea.

The teacher will be harder on it than you think.

If you REALLY wanna do something about a Japanese author, may I suggest HARUKI MURAKAMI?

His books are interesting reads, theres likely a lot of info about him and he is quite highly regarded. And oh so Japanese.

If you are studying english and they want to research books they mean literature, not comics. I know the whole western view of comics, blah blah, but manga doesnt not equal real books.

actually, manga are simply comics, they do not come close to falling on the same criterium as regular novels and other scholarly works do.

they are devoid of any real scholarly literary value, and are created for the purpose of entertaining and making money for the manga industry.

vonnegut, dickens, hemmingway, steinbeck...real authors who write real books, the idea that you think drawings of people humping each other compiled together into some meager plot constitute as "real books" is a joke
