I just picked up like two days ago, and This game is addictive with those battle trophies! yeesh, and I can't wait to start inventing stuff and making money off my inventions...did you know you have to have your inventions reviewed....AND GET A PATENT! Also hunt down hard to find high level inventors...And the stuff in the game is expensive! There things i want but its like 45,596 Fol...and i got like 5,894...Man i need more money...oh and there's this wine in the game-the price keeps going up! its like 55,497 fol[money]

But i'm just rambling but i do enjoy the game, have any of you played it?

Update: Reached Aquios, opened my own shop, hunting for inventors...I may go all the way back to air[something ofanother] They have shops thier and i have to the training facility to get these this cmpd and cook inventors......Also picked up fox boy...who is very annnnnnoying! :p money::17,324

this has been my first post in a really long time but anywhoo here it goes...

hey esca i got Star Ocean also i love the game i am a master inventor if you want a tip here is one that i like to share that not alot of people know about.

When you are contracting inventors contract these 2 especially

Mackwell - In Aquios library, give him the Book of Prophecies 1 from Kaddan.

Misty Lear - In Mountains of Barr, give her the Spirit Stone. Which can be found in the Ruins of Barr

you will later on get a party member called "Maria" if you take these 3 and you make them do the alchemist jobs and have the cost be between 5,000 and 5,300 you will make a thing called "oriculium" this will add "attack +500" to your weapon but you can then go to "specify plan" and keep refining it over and over and you will then have your attack reach "9999" like mine has and to raise the success rate you can find this thing called a "Alchemist's Stone" which is in a chest in the Mosel Dunes. also when you get to go to a place called "Gemity" go and beat the single fights battle arena (the ones where you only fight with 1 person from your party) you will get this book that gives your weapon "attack +1000" but you can refine that with the writing skill i think up to 8 or 9 times so by time you are done you will have "attack +8000 - +9000" plus your weapons origional attack and then you will do uber damage. I have beat it so if you have any questions let me know. Also you get to choose your party members i personally like "albel nox" the best but thats just my opinion but here is how you get your other members.

The Seventh Party Member

Nel

To have Nel as your seventh party member do not particpate in the scenes
to get Albel or Roger, she is the default member.

Roger

To have Roger as your seventh party member go to Surferio and go to the private
home opposite the shop. If you help him here in the choice given you will
get him as your seventh member.

Albel

To have Albel join the gang for good go back to Peterny and rest the night at
the Inn to initiate a PA. In it Albel will ask if you hate him, saying
"Not really" will make him the seventh memember

The two left behind can be recruited as the eigth and final member later
along with another character named Adray.

AW MAN!!! I so want Star Ocean 2!!! I just can't afford it yet! I'm on a budget and unfortunately, video games are not included my budget.... crap.

So is this Star Ocean any good? What's the battle system and storyline like?

But back To StarOcean. A very hard part of this game is the inventing. And getting the inventors to surface so you can sign them to your team. And sometimes you can assign them to different towns and they hate being signed to a town they don't like....oooooo :okashii:

star ocean the second story is that the first or second game. what was the first game? does this game have anything to do with the other one? are there like a trillion endings to this one too? do you play as two characters again?

Yea theres two other ones. I think there may be more endings. And you can use up too 7 different characters. during battle atleast. you can switch them and all. story wise....don't want to give away spoiliers and all. IF thier are any... :blush:

well actually ther was a Star ocean on snes and it was one of the snes best games if you want my opinion. After that they made out star ocean the second story, where the hero claude was the son of one of the characters from the previous episode.
There's also been a star ocean blue sphere on gbc which happens after star ocean the 2nd story and where you get to control the same characters...
As for star ocean till the end of time...well it's the same universe as SO2 (400 and after I think), but the game seems more related to valkyrie profile :p

well the game boy color's one is not that good visually ( it's a GBC game after all), but the skill system is a lot more...errr complicate? than those in the previous star oceans since you control even the moves and the spells that your characters learn.
The story takes place after star ocean the second story, and the main character is precis this time (claude, rena, opera and earnest only appear later).

i am like a master of inventing the guy i am trying to get now has a blacksmith skill level of 99 but i need 100 gemity bunny racing points and its mad hard. make sure you get what i told you, you will be a friggin powerhouse lol.

star ocean isnt that hard i beat it in a day i was kinda hoping with 2 discs it would be longer but it was awesome all the way through. hey esca do you like cliff? he kinda has the same attitude you do so i was wondering lol. i myself am more like albel wait till you get to fight the final boss his name is "luther" he has these 2 moves that really back a punch so when he yells either "WALLOW IN DESPAIR!!!!" or "DATA SHOULD BEHAVE AS SUCH!!!!" you want to put some distance between you and him all in all he is mad easy but after you beat the game you get to fight him and Fayt together and that is also a really easy battle or at least it was for me i am the only one i know that has beaten the second one. make sure to take Fayt out first beacuse he can be a real pain in the arse if not dealt with right off the bat. but if you followed my weapon instructions and what not it will be easy. The really cool thing is i didnt know how to increase my characters stats untill i beat luther for the first time. now i got all my stats maxed beacuse i had so much experience built up. so if i can beat it with that much health you shouldnt have a problem.
