First impressions on Kyo from dir en grey

I thought he was absolutely fascinating. I never thought of him as scary. Weird and odd, yes, but he definitely never scared me. My impression of him hasn't changed much, aside from the fact that I adore him even more than I did when I first got in to Diru. He's an amazing person, even if his appearance and actions are somewhat odd.

I agree! :blush: Kyo did stand out from the group a little and still does even as they get less visual. Has anyone besides me knoticed that Kyo has removed most of the peircings from his face reciently? I was a little shocked by it because Kyo always said he had them so he could be different and harder to accept...

By the way...Alot of people dislike Kyo's scratching action...I think that it disturbs people when I say I have no opinion in the matter. For me its kind of a its Kyo's body let him do with it what he wants...

anyways...the first song i i heard from DeG was saku and i pictured Kyo a tall man with dark hair o_O...then i was introuced to his pictures. The first pic i saw of him is this one... and i thought like: he's f*cking possessed...yay. i was alot more attracted to Kaoru and Die's look. then little by little i began to appreciate Kyo's look, and now i like it the most. It's unique and interesting. some people think that he is trying too hard, well i really like it, i like standing out from the crowd, being average annoys me. the average rock bands on mtv makes me want to kill something... the part about vomiting blood...uh no comment. :okashii: but in the end, isnt talent the most important thing about him? :-) i mean his voice is abusolutly beyond amazing XD

i love Kyo for his disturbingness and uniqueness, and of course talent...maybe people should appreciate more what he has to offer... :cute:

I had this song by Dir en Grey and I would have bet my savings that it was Gackt. Even my friend (who is a HUGE Dir en Grey fan) thought it was Gackt. And that's the only reason I think Kyo sounds like Gackt. Whenever Kyo starts screaming all the place, then I'm like, "Oh, it's just Kyo."

Of course, I tend to think everyone sounds like Gackt. :D

Well, I have listened to enough of this western music to say that it's crap. I only live where western music comes from for hell's sake so I hear it all the time. So I think I should be pretty well knowledgeable about it. All I hear these days is rap, crappy pop, rock that sounds all the same and whatnot. What is over in Japan is much more original and they can actually sing and they also have diversity and actually sound different from each other. Their lyrics, well, let's not get into that right now.

The first time I saw Kyo, I thought he was actaully quite pretty (The first PV I saw and the first song for that matter that I heard of theirs was Yokan after all). After that, I think I might have been freaked out just slightly, but not much the next time I saw him. I find him to be quite creative, unique, and original (and sexy and CUTE!!). I respect him a lot for being able to write and perform such songs. It must take at least a little bit of bravery for a lot of people would be to disgusted of them to listen and I'll shut up now...Hehe...

I'd have to agree with Nightwalker on this one here. I also hail from North America and, well...The music produced here, is, simply put, just that: PRODUCED. It's all the same practically. I'm not saying they are ALL bad, just mostly so. And I do not believe that either Nightwalker or myself have "such ignorant and biased views", since we have quite a bit of experience with western music. It's mostly (but not TOTALLY) all the same and, quite frankly, the music in general is not good at all to begin with, and it only gets worse and worse when all these songs are practically identical. And also, to top at ALL off, the lyrics leave much to be desired... And lastly, for your information, you're only biased if your in the music industry.

Or maybe we just don't like that "other" side of music and don't care to listen to the same crap of new boring artists that pop out of no where and have no talent what-so-ever. Meanwhile others out there busting their nuts to get where some people today shouldn't be. There is no good music today over here on the western side because all of the damn music has been done by others and all the songs are about sex, money, getting inside the girls pants, and all that crap. Most of these artists don't even write their own damn lyrics. They are just a product of the record company. Some bands, singers whatever over here are okay but I would rather listen to different people from somewhere else sing about something new other than what I hear over here. Music today in the western side is not music at all. It's all fake, old, and the same old crap sung by some "untalented" singer...

This is corny but...Can't we all just get along? All I've seen around this forum is people arguing over one of the greatest creations in the universe (music, of course.). Now let's alll get back to the dang topic and stay that way! :cool:


*ahem* SO, I watched the BLITZ 5 days concerts last night..well, just the first 3 days ^^;; And umm....uh....wow. On the 1st day concert, Kyo was covered in dirt or something....and...yeah. Second day wasn't scary. He didn't have makeup on...he just...uh...touched his you-know-what twice, I think. The first time wasn't that bad, but the second time, later on... :shock:
On the third concert, he just...kept scratching his chest and arm O___O;;; So now I'm officially scared of Kyo again. But also, after seeing a Deg concert(s), I love them a whole lot more ^_^ And even though I'm afraid of Kyo again, I'm starting to like the guy..the way he poured all his energy into the songs and stuff...It was really great :bravo:

Oh and one question: Does Kyo have a hard time memorizing songs? Now, I'm not trying to start a fight here. I'm just asking 'cause I think I kept seeing him look at something, sing, and look at something through most of the songs.. :?

And whoever was the director of the concerts, I want to glomp that person 'cause Kaoru-sama was so nicely shot and I think aside from Kyo, he was on camera the most :love:

My point about cursing was that this message board has censorship. For example, the word ****. Notice how it was censored? All those asterik symbols are quite obtrusive.

To counteract that, manually put an asterik in the vowel of the curse word, thereby bypassing the security censorship, while still creating an understandable word and getting your point across. Example; sh*t.

I'll go if I can get permission to go up to San Francisco when the time comes. I've got everything figured out price-wise(About $1k), but the twin specters of PERMISSION and PARENTS loom. I would really love to see them. Perhaps they'll come again to PMX at the end of next year. Living and breathing PLC for two days was heaven. Rather unlikely, though... they'll probably be deeply on tour in Sep. of next year.


And Nightwalker, just remember: If you truly like someone or something, you'll support it. And not just by paying lip service. Deg was once indies, and if no one bought their stuff they put out back then they wouldn't be where they are now. Regardless of how much it costs to literally make a cd, it costs money for staff(producer, sound tech, mixers, etc.), instruments, renting a recording studio, etc., etc. There are many, MANY costs for making an album.

No need to make excuses for yourself, there isn't really one good enough in this case. Bands get dumped from labels when they lack sales. Then, surprise surprise, your love isn't going to pay for what they need to create more music.
