I am well aware of J-POP and J-ROCK but is there such a thing as J-METAL. I am sure there has to be. Does japanese metal just fall into the j-rock category or what? Well if someone knows the name of a J-Metal band let me know.

Yeah there's lots. Some of the ones in the 80's were really popular, like "Guitar Wolf". I found several that I really liked while I was in Japan, most of them not well known, like "Eyes" from Nagoya and "Kobose" (which sounds kind of like Primus, metal?).

I guess you'd be right if you had any idea who Guitar Wolf were. Guitar Wolf are greasers who make dirty rocknroll that doesn't even closely resemble metal.

Real J-Metal does exist in Japan, but its so hard to find.

A gateway band to more metal would be Defiled...and if you're really hardpressed to find authentic metal, The Yellow Machinegun.
