No - there hasn't been song that ever made me cry.

Unless you count the songs that made me cry cause they were so horrible.

That's right. A lot of Japanese songs are really beautiful (thanks to vocal) and unusual. However I can’t imagine myself crying while listening to a song - Japanese or not. Probably I am not that sentimental.

Umm..do you mean just J-music or everything? Err..I think I'll just list J-music 'cause it would take me forever to list all the songs that have made me bawl for days ^^;;

And umm..uh..there aren't a lot of J-music songs that made me cry, 'cause I've only listened to J-music for a few years and just recently immersed myself completely into it :bluush:

*ahem* Anyway, onto my super short list!

- Utada Hikaru: Final Distance.

ah....I think this is the first J-music song that made me cry...when I heard the story behind the making of this song...I cried for a week :bawling:

- L'Arc~en~Ciel: A Silent Letter

I don't understand the song completely, but...it's such a beautiful song :(

And that's it! See? I told you it was short :gomen:

Strangely, "Yasei No Energy" from B'z can bring me close to tears only because of what it represents and what I don't have anymore.

But that is just me.

"Ain't afraid to die" by Dir en grey doesn't really make me cry but it's a really moving song for me and it's always in my head at some point everyday. It was the first Dir en grey song that I love and what got me into the band from me friend Horizon.

Ain't afraid to die has such emotion! It doesn't make me cry thou...I cry when I listen to Longing ~ Melody and White Poem by X because they make me think about Hide being gone and that X could still be here had it not happened....:( Every time I hear that song *puts up lyrics translation*

Even pain is seen in words, even tears gather.
Someday, memories will flourish.
That's why it's an unchained melody, hold my heart
I will still be alive tomorrow, even if I can no longer meet you.

Sing without you, I'II sing without you,
can't you feel my heart, falling through the rain.
I sing without you, I'II sing with out you,
can't you hold me tears, cause still I love you.
I cant face the thought of being alone,
I sing for the song still carries on.

Hold my heart, memories are still singing, even if i have no voice.
Sing without you, I'll sing without you,
can't you feel my pain, there's nothing I can do.
I still have a longing for your memory, even if the memory is only pain.
I won't let my feelings show.
Now, I don't want to be alone.
In the pouring rain, it all must be a dream, from tomorrow on...

Sing without you, I'll sing without you,
can't you feel my heart, falling through the rain.
I sing without you, I'II sing without you,
can't you hold my tears, cause still I love you.
Sing without you, I'll sing without you,
can't you feel my heart, falling through the rain.
I sing without you, I sing without you,
can't you hold my tears, cause still I love you.

-Sniffles- Those lyrics are so beautiful! And so very, very sad. :bawling: They even brought tears to my eyes! :bawling: Which is actually quite difficult to do

Also, I remember other songs that bring me to tears, so here's a list (of the ones I can remember currently, excluding the ones I already posted)

"Ain't Afraid to Die" (Dir en grey of course)
"The Cape of Storms" (HYDE)
"Evergreen" (HYDE)
"Flame" (hide)
"Forever Love" (X Japan) <----Makes me think of hide because it's so depressing :bawling:

I'm an emotional kinda guy and just about any sad song could make me cry but nothing gets me like the 9/11 remix of Heaven and they put this lil girl on the song talking about her dad that died and she treats the situation as if he's gonna come home tommorrow :bawling:. Anyway it was sad.

Another song that I'm more familiar with is, Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. what really gets me is the sound and mood of the song, the sounds of the instruments makes it really depressing :(. Anyway, for those who aren't familiar with the song I found the lyrics incase yall are interested.

R.E.M.- Everybody Hurts

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone

When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on

Don't let yourself go, everybody cries

and everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong, now it's time to sing along

When your day is night alone (hold on, hold on)

If you feel like letting go (hold on)

When you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on

Everybody hurts, take comfort in your friends

Everybody hurts,

Bridge:

Don't throw your hand, oh no, don't throw your hand

when you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long

When you think you've had too much, of this life, to hang on

Well everybody hurts, sometimes

Everybody cries, everybody hurts, sometimes

But everybody hurts sometimes so hold on, hold on, hold on,

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on,

Everybody hurts

You are not alone

Peace People!

Tsuki no Uta
The Song of the Moon
Lyrics, Written, Sung by: Gackt Camui

kagayaita masshiro na T shatsu
mizu shibuki ni ukabu niji
bonyari to mitsumeteru sora o
ikutsu mono kaze ga asobu
nannimonai koto ga futari dake no shiawase datta

A shining, pure white T-shirt
A rainbow floating in a spray of water
Gazing thoughtfully at the sky
The wind plays with countless things
Nothingness was our own happiness

dare yori mo fukaku kokoro made oborete
ima mo kono basho de kimi dake o mitsumete
nido to modoranai yume naraba kowashite
wasurarenakute mou ichido aitai

More deeply than anyone else, I even give my heart to you
Even now right here, I'm only gazing at you
If it's a dream that I cannot return to once more, I'll destroy it
You're unforgettable, I want to see you once more

shikirou kasanete
kimi no kage, hiroiatsume

The mirages pile up
Your shadows, I collect them

tokei no hari o tometa mama de machitsuzukeru

I keep waiting for you though the hands of my watch have stopped

nemurenai yoru mo, tameiki no asa mo
kimi no daisuki na tsuki no uta o

On sleepless nights, and on mornings when you have to sigh
There's your beloved song of the moon

itsu kara ka tooku, karada made hanarete
ima wa kono basho ni boku dake o nokoshite
zutto kawaranai futari da to shinjita
ano koro no you ni mou ichido, aishita

Some time far away, when even our bodies are left behind
Right now right here, only I remain
I believed we'd always be together unchanging
Once more, like I did at that time, I want to love you

I find this song very depressing. Very. The music video doesn't help much either. Even though I have no idea what he is saying the song just makes me very sad and lonely. Like to me the song sounds like pain or loss or something very emotional that needs to get out.

Another song is from Angel Sanctuary called "Sara" theres no lyrics but the song is very sad too. Every time I hear it my heart sinks. Makes me feel like heart break or someone you really loved is gone.

http://www.centralparkmedia.com/angel/
You can listen to the really sad part repeat itself over and over on the site but you get the idea of it in the song. No need for downloading the song on here it's part of the background music.

Hope i'm not the only guy posting here. hahahaha
Who says guys don't get choked up or teary eyed?

Sometimes you don't need to know the lyrics, but if you feel the power behind the voice and music along with knowing the title of the song it can be emotional.

Some of mine are:
Ayu - Teddy Bear
She sings of memories, and if I translated properly, a boyfriend tells her that when she wakes up a present will be left on the pillow for her. On the last stanza, a teddy Bear is left in place of him. So the guy leaves her and she remembers the good times.

Mongol 800 - Marriage Blue
Mid-tempo song about pre-proposal anxiety and wanting the good and bad that comes with marriage.

That song is SO sad, I think that's pretty much the saddest song I've ever heard in my life. On the first anniversary of 9/11 a disk jockey in Cincinnati played that song straight for 24 hours as a dedication to the attacks because he couldn't think of anything else that was worthy of being played on that day (He got fired after that though, the radio station was pretty upset).

Also, the song Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton makes me cry.

No J-rock songs have made me cry thus far, but I feel mushy inside when I hear Anemone by L'Arc~en~Ciel

I know this isn't what you meant, but I cried from laughter when I watched the PV of Yume Kazaguruma by Psycho le Cemu and when I heard Yami yori kurai dokoku no a cappella to bara yori akai jonetsu...by D.

I am not an emotional person. I cry about once a year. I will admit that upon hearing Ain't Afraid to Die by Dir en grey tears came to my eyes, but I wouldn't really call it crying. I was moved, though, and then I looked up the lyrics and it was very ironic. Also while watching Dir en grey perform Mushi live. Kyo gives such emotional performances that it's hard not to be moved in some way.

Last Song by Gackt.... saddest thing ever...

Like I play piano, and right now I'm playing this ultra difficult piece, and its like this sad, depressing music, so everytime I play, I start singing Last Song in my head and like start crying... It really helps with the emotion, makes my piano playing sexy :p

Metamorphoze is sad too... and theres a ton of sad songs T___T and Rain makes me kinda sad, and and and... then come along Diru with their ultra sad songs, which also make me cry.... My most beloved people on this whole wide world make me cry the most.... kinda weird, ne? :relief:

a lot of songs make me cry... sad songs in general, even if i don't know the meaning, the way it is sung and the rythm make me feel melancholic...

Chemistry: my gift to you, it takes two, back together again, your name never gone but, especially, meaning of tears.
Gackt: last song, of course, mizerable, juunigatsu no love song, orenji no taiyou, emu for my dear, and the album love letter...
Hyde: shining over you, evergreen, shallow sleep, the cape of storms.
Ken Hirai: hitomi wo tojite.
Kirito: door, hameln.
l'Arc en Ciel: hitomi ni utsurumono, anata, a silent letter, my dear, the silver shining, shizuka no umi de, all year around falling in love, farewell and dearest love.
Luna Sea: i for you, forever&ever, in my dream, love song, and many other..
Mai kuraki: tonight i feel close to you.
Klaha: stay in the rain.
Smap: shiosai.

I rearely cry, so a song can hardly make me cry, even the live performance. I can only be moody or happy when I listen to a certain type of a song

I don't cry very much from songs, but tons of em get me so choked up I'm on the edge of it, especially that one Yoshiki wrote for Hide....otherwise, it's just too many to list, that was just one that came right to my head when I saw the thread.

There's so much raw emotion in that song to the point that I can't listen to it more then once every 24 hours. If I listen to it more then that I'll be an emotional wreck the whole day.

"Hitomi no Jyunin" by L'Arc~en~Ciel
"Last Impression" by TWO-Mix
"Good Morning Hyde" by L'Arc~en~Ciel okay, I will admit that is an odd one to make me cry but it does. I mean it's on the last album they did with Sakura if I remember currectly and in the Laruku fandom has become the official theme song for the Sakura/Hyde pairing. So I can't help but at least choke up if not really cry every time I hear it.

Did I write here before..? :?
well, anyway, Mushi of course, the more you listen to it the more painfull it becomes...
X-japans Unfinished... You just have to love the lyrics, when he sings, 'go away from me now, close your eyes and forget me'.... Yoshiki knows how to make you cry.
But Mushi still wins this round, there is just something in Kyo's voice that no one can copy and his skills when it comes to sound like your heart is busting.
Mine did when I first heard this song. So many memories connected to it.
I also like Bottom of the death valley, the way he pain-angst-screams...
And Undecided... Whoa!! Kisou is a really dark album! :(
Although I never cried-cried when hearing these songs, incase mom comes in my room...:p But I did really cry when I heard Bryan adams, 'please forgive me,' but only cuz I just had read the most sad fanfic ever about kaoru and toshiya and it was like soundtrack to that fic... :( And then my mom came in!!:p :D so no more criyng :bluush: ;)

The first time I heard D.L.N live I cried, it's such a sad song.

When I was at their live in London, Ruki brought out his guitar and I got teary-eyed, as soon as they started playing Cassis I was crying with happiness. I wanted to see that song played live more than any of their other songs, so I was just so overwhelmed when my wish was granted.
Aaaah nostalgia...

oh and when I read the lyrics for Wakaremichi, then Uruha said that it would be the last song they ever perform. So it makes me think about the GazettE breaking up whenever I listen to it...

[edit] forgot to mention the songs are by the GazettE
