View Full Version : Info on universities in Japan
If you went to a university in Japan can you say which one? And does anyone know of any universities that are very accomadating to foreigners (accepts a larger amount of foreigners than most universities)? I want to try to transfer to a university after 2 years. I know Japanese if that helps in getting into some universities. But I do not know enough to be able to take a kokugo (国語) or shakai (社会) section on an entrance exam. If anyone can give me some info, I would really appreciate it.

First question, not to pry, but what do you want a degree in? In may turn out that the best place to get that degree, though it may involve Japan or some aspect of Japanese politics / economy / history etc. is not in Japan.
I was thinking of a business degree but not 100% sure yet

Where do you see yourself working? US based with trips, sometimes of several years (transfer) to Japan, Japan based with trips to the US, in the US working for a Japanese subsidiary, in Japan working for a US subsidiary, on in Japan only / US only?
Japan only preferrably but would do w/ US trips

Than any Japanese school with a good business program will suit you just fine.
Since it doesn't sound like you are going international, name recognition is not as important.
Have you passed 1kyu?
Also, keep in mind, your credits may not be recognized by the other school and thus you might have to start from square one (four years + expenses). Really check out any prospective schools you find.
With that in mind, have you been searching google.co.jp?
