Could you be a little more specific on what you're looking for ? I've only had direct experience with one, and while the instructional methods and size weren't particularly worth recommending ; it was very economical in terms of time, money, and the possibility of a 10 week home stay. So much so that I'm considering repeating a semester next year.

I'm interested in living in Tokyo for a while and attending a language school seems like a good idea. If I study I will be able to finance my stay through a student loan. You said the school was economical, that sounds good. What's the name of the school?

I just got back from the japan education fair in my country, and it seems most of the people there recommended ABK http://www.abk.or.jp/e/index.html and Tokyo Japanese Language Educational Center http://www4.jasso.go.jp/tokyo/indexE.html (1yr course cost around 755,000 yen, 1 1/2 yr for 1,085,000 yen)

I went to GEOS Kudan Language Institute in Tokyo, but I'm not sure if the prices are still the same as before (They were pretty decent). Here is the address to their webpage: http://www.geos-japanese-insti.co.jp/english/index.html

I would email them and tell them you are interested in maybe studying at their school, and they should be able to give you information on the prices. The best feature about this school is that they can set you up with Homestay families why you study there at that University. I think that it cost 750,000 Yen per month, but that includes your own private room, Breakfast & Dinner (Lunch on the weekends as well). The best part about it is that it gives you a very good sense of what the Japanese life style is like. The classes are Mon-Fri, and you either have Morning or Afternoon classses. They also have field trips that you go on, such as Tokyo Disneyland, Climb Mt. Fuji, Various Festivals, Tea Ceremony, etc. This is my experience with Japanese Language schools, so good luck on finding on that fits your criteria.
