Everyone has seen the little square holes on the bottom of every GameCube game case, right? Alright, cool. Now...WHAT ARE THEY FOR!?!?:mad::mad::mad:

Memory cards fit rather snugly in those spaces, I find.

hehe..

It's like what jon said.. they're memorycard storage :p

I can't believe this is something you've been struggling with :D
I can just see you sitting with a GCcase struggling looking deep in thought :D
warning, emote-heavy post

Yeah, I know about the memory card slots on the inside. But on the bottom right corner of the case (underneath), there's this little square cut-out. It's on every case, but I've never known what it's for.

The American GC cases are, I believe, made the same as the American rental GC cases, with a slot for the security device to be put in. I guess it was just easier than making two types of cases.

Yup, I've not seen said spaces. Can't help you there. But I am still enjoying the mental image of you looking at the case in utter puzzlement.

The image is still there, be it the memory slot or a small hole.
It's cracking me up.

I can only find those wallet case things on google image search, but if I think about it later tonight I'll take a pic of what he's talking about and post it up.

The small hole on the bottom of the US and Canadian GC cases are for a security locking device. A thin yellow lock that is the same length as the case fits in and needs a magnet to take it out.

I guess it was cheaper to make only one case and have dual functionallity with it so that smaller stores could use it.

Personally, I never put that much thought into it.

Probably an expansion slot, I'd say. The Snes also had an expansion slot on the bottom, which was never used however (perhaps by some obscure Japan-only stuff, but nothing that ever made its way over here).

dude, not to rain on your parade or anything, but it has already been solved two times. :p
it was just a hole in the case for the game. nothing to expand.

oh hahaha yeah id say for the security thing to fit in there so the case can be locked to prevent people from stealing the game discs.

and here this whole time i thought you were talking about a square shaped hole in the console itself. :p

I've got a square-shaped hole in my console. I don't know what it's there for, though. It sorta showed up after I threw it through a window.

Seriously dude, you should have taken that picture in a cave with some fire in the background with the 2001 main theme playing! Haha, the look on your face is priceless!

Anywho, I'm glad I was able to answer your question somewhat!

I know the merging of the pictures is seamless, perfect and astonishing.. but that was done in 4 minutes time I had to kill while waiting for the bus to go to my friends house and watch AvP with hot chicks.

The busstation is right outside my building so...

I wouldn't want to know where you hide your stolen swag if you're not wearing clothes...

I don't think I've seen a clothed picture of you yet. unfortunatelly :relief:

-quotes The Hot Chick, where the reggae guy (Adam Sandler) is talking to the stripper-

Adam Sandler: "Where do you keep your weed?"
Stripper: -whispers in his ear-
Adam Sandler: "Oohh...yeah, I don't have one of those..."

Random, yes. But you reminded me of it ^.^"
