I translated the page (well google did), http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.izo-movie.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3DIzo%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D but the movie doesn't make much sense. But I think the director is Takashi Miike.

Crap, I read a synopsis of what this film is about and for the life of me, can't remember the story.

Something about some dude who travels through time to kill something and they...

I got nothing.

Sorry.

Yes, this is one Miike that I have yet to see. For those interested here's the trailer IZO (http://www.izo-movie.com/). Here's the full cast and other info via IMDB.com (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377079/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxzZz0xfHR0PW9ufHBuPTB8cT1pem98bXg9Mj B8bG09MjAwfGh0bWw9MQ__;fc=4;ft=20;fm=1) . It's nice to see Takeshi "Beat" Kitano in this as well!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this was my initial reaction to IZO after seeing a screening of it at the London Film Fest last year:

"A shambles of a film, an absolute stinker beyond all proportion its poorly constructed with no character development whatsoever, an embarrasingly awful film that actually makes Tennen Shojo Mann Next now seem not such a bad film in comparison.

Put it this way - Junk is still the worse Japanese film i've seen - but its only marginally worse than Izo.

A waste of the £9.80 ticket, a waste of what looks like a big budget film (some nice cinematography and effects) and more importantly a waste of 145 mins of arse numbing pretentious twaddle with little to say and nothing to recommend.

So bad i wouldnt even recommend downloading it (its a waste of the transfer time). Rating : 1/5"

Just to add a little more info:

Kitano is wasted in this film with very little to do and to be honest looks bored throughout (though not as bored as i was) and basically after a moderately interesting opening and concept all we end up getting is badly choreographed sword fights every 5 -10 mins - random (overlong) musical interludes, and zero character development or plot.

Usually I love Takashi Miike movies but this was unbearable.

Thanks for the feedback! I like those kind of feedback too, as we are all used to the positive feedbacks, and negative ones are great too and very helpful when deciding to watch the film or not, as we all have different tastes!!!
