Examples like Kuroda Yoshiyuki's 1968 film SPOOK WARFARE, and 1969 film ALONG WITH GHOSTS. Some other great examples would be Yasuda Kimiyoshi's 1968 film 100 MONSTERS as as recent as the two films from 2003 directed by Haraguchi Tomoo called KIBAKICHI BAKKO YOKAIDEN 1 and 2. Bascially they incorporate traditional samurai storylines with traditional supernatural elements like Yokai (ghosts from or guard hell). Pretty much all the films I have seen have been quite well made and have very interesting storylines. Any thoughts on these wonderful Japanese films?

Well, you have to see Kaidan, it's a must.
Onibaba is good as well, the only two classic-samurai-ghost-movies I've seen, if that's what the thread is about.

Onibaba was a great film for sure, but in a some what different catagory really. Yokai films incorporate rubbersuit demoms, much like Godzilla only not a big. Here's a picture/example of what I mean...
