I just picked up this Koji Shiraishi film released by Pathfinder Films, and also got a chance to sitdown and watch it as well. I must say this is certainly one of the best examples of horror films to come out of Japan since RINGU. Now I have seen all four of the JU-ON series, both the tv movies and the theatrical films and they really didn't do much for me at all. JU-REI however is the complete opposite for sure. Filled with washed out saturated colours, a creepy score and tons of chilling moments all essantial elements in creating a great atmosphere. The stucture of the film's storyline is layed out in 10 chapters, starting with the 10th and running down to the first. With all the characters directly releated in sameway or another.

If you don't mind, where did you purchase this? Is it a NA release for region 1? Or is it for region 2 or 3? Usually, I pick up most of my films from dvdasian.com. They have a lot of Korean non-bootleg versions of Japanese films for decent prices.

I buy most of my Asian titles from DVDAsian.com as well, JU-REI however I bought in Chinatown. It's a region 1 release through Pathfinder, you should be able to purchase it anywhere online pretty much including Amazon.

I've seen Ju-Rei at Best Buy but was on the fence about buying it. Perhaps I'll go ahead and take the plunge this weekend!
