Hi All
Im new to this forum so apologies if this question has already been asked. I live in the UK but am wanting to know of any Japanese retailers selling these machines (PSP & DS) deliver to the UK? Any online Japanese retailer links would be most appreciated.
thanks for your time

Dunno if they've got games/systems, but yesasia.com should have something (they've got everything else), and they should ship to Europe. Not sure if the prices make importing worth it, though.
Edit: use this url - Yes Asia Global (http://global.yesasia.com/en/index.aspx) - since you're not in the US. Also, while I don't know about the PSP, the DS's menu is in any of six languages, and the games are all region free, so if the price of importing it isn't a factor, you won't have to worry about compatibility.
Edit 2: On second thought, maybe you'd want to import from the US, since the UK price for the DS, at least, is the equivalent of nearly $240 USD for the system alone.
A friend told me that PSP should be released in Europe sometime in march and price should be 150 euros. Somehow I find this hard to believe...

yep, i think your right! the chance of getting a PSP for 150 Euros (about £100) are next to nothing. Thats why Im looking for a Japanese retailer I can contact direct.

Hey there,
Well I know for sure that you won't be able to use the Nintendo DS outside of Japan, because I asked an employee at an electronics store in Tokyo while I was on vacation there over Christmas. I am not sure about the PSP though, but I know with the Nintendo DS, you are able to enter into chat rooms and stuff, so the Japanese version does not work outside of Japan.

You were lied to/they didn't know. All Nintendo handhelds are completely region free. My American DS has the menu in... *turns it on to check, since it's on the desk* English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese. My copy of Feel the Magic XX/XY is dual language, and my pictochat has full hiragana/katakana ability. It will play ANY DS or GBA game.

I guess I'm not that familiar with the Nintendo DS, but don't you have the capabilities of chatting to people who have Nintendo DSs? You may be able to play the games ok and stuff, but if you try to use the chat you are not able to do such a thing. Then again a lotta the time those employees at the shop have no idea of what they are talking about. Please enlighten me on this subject.
Hey pinkie247 I just read official information about PSP, date of release for Europe is 18 march and price for standard pack is 200 euros and for value pack is 250 euros. Hope this helps!

hi
just thought i would update my previous question. I am trying to sell PSP's in the UK (import obviously) before they come out officially but the places I have found who I can buy from (ie mainly Hong Kong based retailers) sell them to me for at least 250 pounds sterling. however I know from contacts that shops in japan sell them for close to 100 pounds sterling. if this is the case does anyone know the web address of any retailer in japan who sells psp's, and who will deliver / ship internationally?
I would really appreciate your comments and thank you very much for your time!
cheers
Andrew

I am new to this forum - joined today.
I too am looking for a Japan web site for Console stuff.
I am aware that the Importers are making serious money and don't want to pay their high premiums.
I have contacted Amazon.co.uk but they will not ship electronic goods out to the uk. They will do Cd's, DVD's and books etc which is quite good.
Upon reading a few topics in this Forum and my interest in Japanese Technology and other stuff I joined up so hello to all.

The PSP's UMD game discs are region free. Movies, even if they are regioned encoded, can simply be put onto the memory card. Personly, I'll wait. Game choice isn't great now anyway.

Dynasty Warriors, Darkstalkers and Hot Shots Golf in your pocket... but I understand where you're coming from. They'll still be the same price when FFVII gets released, so I'm going to grab one the day it comes out anywho.
