I've been into Evangelion for a while (EoE fan, if anyone's wondering), and have recently finally managed to get my hands on FLCL...I was wondering if anyone else here had seen either these or other works produced by Gainax and could give their thoughts...

Thanks!
Kaji

Gainax has been one of the top animation studios for over a decade of the quality they (namely Hideki Anno) produce into their series like those you two mentioned, which I'm an avid fan of.

Other Gainax series that I've thoroughly enjoyed worth mentioning: Mahoromatic, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou, Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai, Ebichu, and the most recent Puchi Puri Yuushi.

I just saw Ebichu recently... it was... different, but humorous none-the-less. It relied way too much on sexual humor.

hehehe...Something tells me you'd best watch out for FLCL, if that's the case...

They also did Otaku no Video, if I recall correctly, right?

didn't Gainax do some of the Dai-con anime convention intros back in the mid to late '80's? :o

Greetings, all!

Otaku no Video was definitely a Gainax title, but I don't think Serial Experiments Lain was... I could be wrong, though.

Two other old hits from Gainax which haven't been mentioned here are Fushigi no umi no Nadia (Nadia of the Mysterious Seas) and Top wo nerae! Gunbuster. I love both of those shows... great stuff!
