Same here. I think the idea for Break just kind of died. I wish a new one would come out, though...I wanna know what happened to Serge and Kidd.

Radical Dreamers is alright. Not anything super. And it was good to have something to link the games. Especially after Square claimed that you wouldn't need previous knowledge in order to enjoy Cross, yet there were a crazy amount of references that I only got after playing Trigger.
Yeah especially with Lavos...I still havent finish the Trigger but CC is the one of the first RPG I played on psx and also one of the best I ever played. The ending kindda leave you hanging but I hope the new chrono will give a quick reference on what happened after... :-)

Um... SPOILER BELOW
The ending of CC is not referencing a sequel, it is the link between the two games (that CC provides, at least). It's Lucca finding Kid and raising her, so that she can later come to the islands and meet up with Serge.

You sure you don't mean the anime ending of the Trigger that was released in FF Chronicles? Cuz I remember the end of Cross being where you found out it was Kidd writing in the journal thing, and then during the credits it shows her in a city, seeming like she's looking for something (or someone). You know it's Kidd cuz she's holding her necklace. I always thought it was a little awkward though, because it's live action.

well what do you think it would be about if they ever made the game. I hope the orignal team makes a return as playable characters. magus was the bomb. :victory:

I think it'd be cool if it was about Kidd reforming the Radical Dreamers and her search for Serge (kinda like FFX-2, without the seventies connotaton). And hopefully they'd do away with the "turn into the bad guy for half the game" idea. That bugged me about Cross...too much was recycled.

cross wasnt that great. i still dont know why schala was in lavos. never figured it out. and not to spoil anything
spoiler...
is cross just a alternate time or something

oh and all i have to say about radical dreamers is that it bored me into a coma  . and Japanimaniac i agree with you on no more bad guy for half the game. i say boo on that

No, Cross is an actual sequel (watch the anime ending to the re-release of Trigger, then play Cross...it should make sense then). But ultimately Cross was just a modern recreation of Trigger, using (many) new characters. The story continues from Trigger, but the plot was veeeeeeery similar.

i forgot to add that there was way to many characters. backstorys on them were bland. trigger is just better. new question!!! how many times have you played any of the chrono games?(even radical dreamers.)

I've played through Cross six times, since that's how many times it took me to get the combination of characters right so that I ended up with all of them when I played a New Game + (including Harle Quin...who is super mega hot, by the way XD), and to get all the endings. I've played Trigger twice. Once through, and once saving at various places so I could get all twelve endings without restarting each time. Radical Dreamers only once since I was borrowing it from my japanese friend.

Yeah, it was kinda lame... :okashii:
Chrono Trigger is still the best. Dunno how often I played it...
I miss there being another Chrono game...just like Vagrant Story, this is one series that needs to be revived. Chrono Trigger came out in 1995 and Chrono Cross came out in 2000 so with that in mind --I think if time and history were to be accurate, we are suppose to be in store for another Chrono game.
Is radical dreamers the text based one that was released for the japanese net play thing?
dreamer

well not really net play...more likely snes play :/
But it was indeed a text play game...however what chrono trigger anime are you talking about? O_o
I've got only one chrono trigger anime and it was a very lame one with gato getting mad and all the stuff -_-

If you mean me, I'm talking about the anime cut-scenes that were added to the re-release of Trigger, when it came in Final Fantasy Chronicles.
