Could anyone give me facts on FF12 - isn´t it supposed to get released this year? Tell me everything you know about the game please!!

You´re right! The first FF game you play is usually the game you´ll love be most. It´s the same with me, I like FFX the best - and it was my first!

And, yes - whoever said that - the voice actors for the FFX SUCKS - (In the english version) but it´s still fun, cause the characters get a stronger personality to me when they talk.

But they really suck - haha, especially Yuna. She has the SAME tone in her voice the ENTIRE game through... She´s all whiny all the time. sucks.

Final Fantasy VIII will forever be my favorite. But X-2, IX, and VII are up there, too. :cool:

Yeah, but the international versions are also released in Japan, and the japanese international versions usually get the most stuff (like the FFX - Another Story DVD, or the Kingdom Hearts - Deep Dive secret ending).

I like X-2 much much better because it's more fun, less linear (I don't understand how those that complain about the last couple FFs being linear can have any love for X), you level up instead of having a weird grid that you can mess up and have to start the game over, the FMVs went back to the pseudo-anime look (instead of the super real, show-every-freckle look that X had, which made everyone look ugly), and the ending gives you closure (as long as you do everything and get the best ending). :cool:

Hell, I think even the sad ending gives great closure. It's just so... sweet... And, even though I've got a high enough percentage to get the good/perfect endings, I've only seen them in Japanese. I'm almost afraid of watching it in English, and having Tidus's actor mess up the line. It's that sweet in the Japanese.

X's ending gives you closure in a "I know there's gonna be a sequal" kind of way. You accept it, because you know there's more story. At least, that's how it is for me. And I actually kind of appriciate it more now that I've played both. I thought it was pretty cool that they actually used the teaser after the credits of X in the perfect ending of X-2. It gives you that realization of "oooohhhh...so that's why...", as opposed to the "...huh...?" when you see it in X.

I´ve seen trailers on XII - It´s gonna be great I think - only, I don´t like the main character, Vaan. He´s a little too... blonde! (even though Tidus was blonde too, but he´s still cooler!)

I tend to go for the bad guys. They're almost always the coolest characters (except for X...I mean, the name says it all...Seymour...). Seifer Almasy will ALWAYS be my most favorite character of all time, but Kain, Kefka, Sephiroth, and Kuja are all up there, too. In X, Jecht's probably my favorite, and in X-2, Rikku or Gippal. Ah, yes, Rikku...-drool- :p

Japanimaniac: agree, the bad guys are the best. Wonder why? - Its not like I love the stupid/evil guys in my school or anything. They are only cool in games, movies or manga.

I think it's because the bad guys almost always have the most outstanding personalities. They're the jokers, and the dreamers, and the artists. There are exceptions, though, which is why Rinoa, Irvine, Jecht, and Gippal are so cool. But Sephiroth, Kuja, General Hine (fromt the movie), Seifer...they all believed that they were doing the right thing. They had a plan. It's not their faults that they went about things differently.

Of course, there are your generally evil bad guys, like Kefka. But Kefka looked so cool and was so funny that he's my favorite anyway. ^.^ And I loved the way Kuja spoke about everything like it was part of the play "I Want To Be Your Canary" (the play actually forshadows the basic plot to the entire game), even going as far as calling Garnet his 'Canary'. Seifer...well, he's just all around awesome. My personality is most like Seifer, minus the being an *** part. And Sephiroth...I don't think I need to explain anything at all about him. If you don't think Sephiroth is awesome, something is wrong.

But...yeah. There's my bad guy rant. :D :p

nice rant, maniac! I agree with everything you said. I still like Seymour, but in a completely different kind of way. He is not cool, hes just disguisting and really scary in a bad kind of way. You dont like him at all, hes odd and ugly and his voice.. man! Its all soft and light in the wrong kind of way. But I think its good, because you hate him you really want him to die, and you REALLY dont want poor Yuna to get married to the guy!

Seph' and Seymour are more similar than you think, both mentalists, both mummy's boys, and both romantics. Seph' appears to be more twisted, because the story focus is a classic battle of good v. evil. Seymour appears in a story more centred on emotional interaction and cultural conflict (not to mention religious oppresion and corruption), so he can never appear as evil as Seph'. And he certainly will never appear as a more duanting figure.

(spoiler for some?) Seymour is evil in a good kind of way I think... I mean, you really don´t like him, cause he disguists you in a way...
I mean, when he´s to marry Yuna, and they kiss, you´re like: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Cause you think he´s a sicko - and HE IS! (What a surprise!)

But his VOICE!? It ´s soo soft. Sick. Sounds like.. ehm... *lost in thought*

To tell you the truth, I hate Seymour because he's just lame. His voice is girlie, he doesn't look cool at all, and he never seemed threatening to me. Sure, I didn't want Yuna to get married to him, but that was more because of the natural "main guy gets the girl" urge I had. I could have done without Seymour at all.

i think vII was the best ever and VIII was sweet aswell, i havent played IX but that looked good...but i think when they got to X the classix FF style plot differed to much with the blitzball and all other **** and the talking made it strange (plus the fact that half the lines sound bloody rediculous)...but its all good :)

I can agree that the english voices sucked, and were sometimes ridiculous, but I still think it gave the characters depth, and made the game more alive. I like it when they talk - (even of Seymours voice is just... weak, and Tidus sound to stupid, and let's not forget the scene where Tidus and Yuna are laughing cause that's just scary...)

I agree, that game is so awesome.. gameplay-wise I don't think any of the FF games so far came close (I replayed tactics at least 3 times ;), and got characters to level 100 even :D ). The soundtrack is also reaal good, story is also amazing.

Apart from that, ff8 was good too. Maybe because I liked watching characters that didn't look like kids..

Now i'm really waiting for ff12 *anticipates massive procrastination in the future*

I like FFVII the most out of all the FF series. Secondly I like FFX. I think Tidus is so cute, but Rikku, Yuna, and Lulu are my favorites. I also like Wakka and Auron. I never played X-2 but I like the design of the character named Pain.

Pain is cool and mean! I also like her design. But X-2 isn't a good FF-game. It's a fun game and good for time-waste, but I don't count it as a FF-game. It's something else..
Besides, the way Yuna sings is... not too good.

I've enjoyed all of them, but I really love Final Fantasy II. I was twelve when I played it, so I was mature enough to enjoy the Cecil/Rosa/Kain love-triangle, but not so mature as to be bothered by some of the cheesier lines "You spoony bard!"

Also, I enjoyed that the characters were all different in how they fought and the hitpoints they had. Rosa healed, Rydia summoned, Kain jumped, etc. They weren't all the same.

dude...no characters in any ff are the same take rikku shes a theif use her to combine and steal items, lulu shes your black mage her attacks concentrate on enemys that are prone to damageby magic...and so on....but ff 2 was good i only played it recently on the ps1...but its the same game....the dialogue still sucks....
