Hello! I'm a 20 year old girl from Sweden. I have received a scholarship called Interpraktik from the Swedish government, which allows me to travel abroud for 6 months and work as a trainee with all expenses paid for. I am supposed to find a placement on my own, so I was wondering if anyone has an idea of where to start looking? I wan't to find a placement where I can learn more about japanese culture; teahouses, japanese cafes/bars/restaurants, shrines, geisha houses, anime/gaming-companies or something like that. I would really appreciate any help I can get! My japanese is very limited, so I don't know where to start at all.. >.<

You could possibly (altho you probably can't depending on your education history) teach english at low rates and mad hours with a school like Geon, Aeon or Nova. As for the other topics a knowledge of Japanese is essential.
Have a look around at sites listing job openings or talk to the people who are sponsering you to see if they have any suggestions.

The problem is, my native language isn't English, even if I speak fluenty. Most schools require that it is your native language. Also, I need to learn something myself, since I am suppose to work as a trainee ^^
I think it shouldn't be so hard to find a placement, since I work for free, but obviously it's not that simple. Most companies doesn't want anyone that doesn't speak fluent japanese. :souka:

Search the net for Japanese businesses that you are interested in and submit a resume...you never know what may turn up...be sure to mention that you will pay your travel to Japan! Better yet, try to search for Swedish companies in Japan. Do you have a Honda or Toyota branch there in Sweden? I mean a corporate HQ, not a dealer...they may be able to help you get in...my wife worked for Honda in Belgium for many years!
