Hello everyone

This is my first post.

My partner is Japanese and we have two children 4 and 6. We are thinking of moving to Japan from England. She is from near Hiroshima so she wants to be fairly near there. I work from home on the internet so won't need to commute, but my main concern is that the children continue to learn english as well as Japanese. Can anyone suggest where would be a good place to search for a home. Ideally I would like to send the kids to an international school rather than a japanese state school for the language reason.

thanks for your help

Did you mean what part of Japan or what part of Hiroshima? Hiroshima is not so small and has an international school so it sounds ideal for you. My town Kobe would be the next best but nothing is wrong with Hiroshima, it is a good city, just the right size.

There are international schools in Hiroshima of course,
Kobe was also mentioned...but I am biased...I went to one in Yokohama and it was great!! :-)

Kanto and Kansai areas have very good (and many) international schools.

If I had my druthers, I'd like to live in the Lake Kawaguchi area. It is close enough to Tokyo, Mt. Fuji and Atami but nice and hilly and green.

don't move to yokohama, it's just as expensive as tokyo and less fun.
