I love the Silent Hill games. I like the twist in SH 3 about Heather and the main bad guy in SH 4.

I don't think there is even a game out for Silent Hill 5, so I do not think they would be working on the soundtrack before the game. I heard they were making a Silent Hill 5 but only for PS3 or XBox2 (they not sure which). They not making it for current consoles.

i actually ended up playing the silent hill games backwards starting with #3 and i had REALLY had enough with those fricking nurses by the time i had worked my way to #1.
i'm working on silent hill 4 but i've heard nothing about any silent hill 5.

the movie sounds awesome. i didn't even know they were making a movie, so that makes me happy. XD

I havn't actually played The Room yet, so besides that, SH1 is certainly the greatest Survival Horror ever made, nothing I've played before or since (inc. the other installments) compares. Top soundtrack, gameplay-wise one of the freshest experiences I've had, and on a Playstation to boot (No I'm not the Playstation one's biggest fan), and of course, the scariest. Games like Resi Evil II make me laugh when they are labled 'shocking' and 'scarey', you start the game SURROUNDED BY ZOMBIES, the mystery of the enemy gone, as soon as you start the game, and from there on in, all they can do to change it up is make you jump... 'Boo!'... pathetic horror writing imo.

When a game is not afraid to be cinematic, to have adult themes, to challenge convention, you usually do get something special, and Silent Hill is up there.

i disliked most resident evil games as well. the story was all laid out for you, you never really solved anything while you were there.
though the characters were purttey. ^^

it's the best version of the game. i have details on the cheat if anyone wants them.


but if you people don't already know, if you use heather's sexy beam through out the whole game, when you get to her apartment, you get the UFO ending.

OMG. that rooms actually scared the **** out of me the first time i was in it.
though if you stay in that room too long, it actually starts killing you. (i.e. i was too scared of the room and really wasn't paying attention and accidentally let heather die.)

i think it's terrifying. especially if you play it alone in a dark room.
points in the games?
in #1 you're trying to find your daughter
in #2 you're trying to find your dead wife that sent you a letter a few years (or something) after she died saying she was in silent hill
in #3 you're trying to figure out why this stuff keeps happening to you.. and why people want you to help the world be destroyed.
and.. i'm not sure about the point in #4..

haven't quite gotten that far. ^^

The best horror game IMHO is The Suffering. I can't wait for the sequel to come out this fall!:-)

unfortunately they completely screwed the story over and turned the man guy into a chick named rose. *die*
and the one guy that was in lord of the rings (boromir i think his name was) is said to have the role of rose's husband in the movie.. (though the original story said that the leading role was male and a single parent.)

i haven't really heard much about silent hill 5, but my guess is that it's going to be for the ps3 that is supposedly coming soon.. which isn't fair.. i don't have any money to buy ANOTHER system. ><;

Sean Bean... He actually looks like a dude that would lead a Silent Hill game/film. The best choice I can currently think of if the film isn't going to be Japanese.

That movie sounds like it will be pretty cool. I love Silent Hill. The first time (sometimes even the second) that you play it (alone especially) it makes you almost wet yourself. (that goes for all of them) Silent Hill 4, actually, I'm stuck on. I'm almost all the way through it, but I'm too much of a whine-tit to actually finish it. Something about it... I think the music, just freaks me the **** out!

And by far, I was most scared by the babies that are molded into the wall above your chest. That's freakish. :eek:

I just got bored playing The Room. Am I just desensitised, or is it a lot less scary than the first 3? I still think the original game is the scariest of all. When the cat jumps out of the locker in the school - I actually screamed out loud! But in The Room the closest I got to scared was when room started getting freaky and my shoes made bloody footprints across the kitchen - and it was just spooky, not outright scary. But I do like the idea that the other world is a lot closer to the real world. The boundaries between the two are a lot more blurred than the other three games, but that only 'sounds' scary, it doesn't really 'feel' scary.

All Silent Hill games are simply magnificient for me. I couldn't choose one between the rest, so I think all of them are worth to buy and to play ^^.
