surely you mean 1.62m tall firstly, otherwise she'd be about the size of my little toe.
secondly 39kg??! given that she is 1.62m tall, i'd say that is extremely anorexic. shouldn't she be dead with that weight?

oh, ups... yeah typo: 1.62 M tall... she's not THAT small.. my bad, sorry.
but the other one is TRUE: she actually weighs 39.9 kg, and that's no lie. Thats soo little, but the japanese are pretty thin and all. Ideal weight for many japanese women lies around 44 kg, and since Chiaki is a star, she should weigh less...

I'm sure there are people here that will know this.

Is it true that the nude photos of Chiaki Kuriyama were taken when she was 13?
I haven't seen the photos myself.
But surely if she was only 13...then that's illegal, even in Japan. I heard that the rumour was bullsh!t and she was really 18.

isayhello
Mar 2, 2005, 15:06
I've also heard that she wasn't 13 - and I think I read in some homepage on her that she wasn't, that she was really anout 17 years old.
People might think she's 13, especially people who aren't used seeing the very small japanese women, she looks very young, and... um.. petite.
The pictures are nice, I'm a girl, so I might watch them in a different way... but they're all artistic and nicely shot.
Do you really think taking nude pictures of a 13 year old would be illegal in Japan? 12 years old is the age when they can have sex legally... or am I wrong?

if the legal age is 12 then i withdraw my comment...but that does seem really young. i do know that places in south american have a very low legal age.
Chiaki_Kuriyama_Fan: if the fotos were taken aged 13, and seeing that you are 13...is there a difference between someone your looking and 'enjoying' the fotos and someone my age or older? in your opinion of course.
it raises the question that if you are of a similar age to the 'model'...if she is young it may be legaly wrong but is it morally wrong?...if you see what i mean.
for me to look at fotos of a 20 year old is fine both legally and morally...for someone aged 60 to look at the same fotos would be legally ok - but morally, well, people would refer to them as dirty or peverted. and turning that on it's head...someone aged 13 looking at someone of the same age is legally wrong, but what about moralality?

Chiaki_Kuriyama_Fan
Mar 3, 2005, 00:07
so me looking at them, doesnt mean i masturbate over them now does it.....but it probally is legaly wrong, so is it illegal for someone my age to look at porno of a 20 year old????

Mycernius
Mar 3, 2005, 00:33
At your age, in this country, it is illegal for you to purchase, or attempt to purchase porn. It is also illegal for anyone to sell you porn. You must be 18.
The soft porn you get in newspapers, such as The Sport is probably legal.
As for in the privacy of your own home, I think you can nick your brothers or dads (that's if you have an older brother)

well, those pictures really isn't PORN, they are just nude, artistic pictures. Nude and porn are two different things. Also it depends a lot on who watches them - some pervert could make porn out of it, but I guess perverts could make porn out of anything...

you misunderstand me...
technically it is illegal because you aren't 18. morally i wouldn't say it was wrong. i not going to pretend that when i was your age i didn't look at pornographic material. and whether you maturbate or not is your business my friend :relief:

well, those pictures really isn't PORN, they are just nude, artistic pictures. Nude and porn are two different things. Also it depends a lot on who watches them - some pervert could make porn out of it, but I guess perverts could make porn out of anything...
i don't think it's a case of whether it is porn or not.
look at it this way if you will...(a hyperthectical theory)
there's a photo on the internet of someone who looks like Chiaki Kuriyama, in the same pose, revealing the same amont of her body, she is also 13 (assuming that the photos of C K are when she was 13). but the photo is taken in the girls bedroom on a regular digital camera or polaroid, it's not taken by a professional photographer and it's published on the net for everyone and anyone to see.
in this situation would you look at it in the same way as the photographs of Chiaki Kuriyama?
would you think; 'she's hot' or 'the photos are beautiful and tasteful and not pornographic' or would you think 'that's sick' or 'perverted'?

i can see this thread is getting a little like the prosecution for the michael jackson trial, so feel free not to reply and it'll be left alone.

Mar 3, 2005, 05:57
I can see your point, smoke - speaking of your theory, if I ever saw those pictures I'd say they were sick and wrong. The only difference is Chiaki is a celibrity, and when someone is famous we tend to look upon them differently, ne?
So you might be right. But the question still remains wether she really IS 13... I still don't believe it, I think she's older. And there's a lot of difference between a 13 year old and a 17 year old...
Anyways, I wonder in what purpose they were taken... that's also something that could put the pictures in a different light. If she did them for some male-magazine, I'd definitely think it was porn - but in case it's some artist who did it for some museum exhibition, I don't know... In theory, the pictures will always remain nude pics, but you can look upon it in many different ways, right?

Anyways, do think the nude pictures are wrong in any way?

well, i agree with what you say...it depends on the context in which the photos were taken. i would imagine (with a very limited knowledge of japanese men's magazines!) that they were for an 'adult' magazine. not top shelf sort of stuff but a japanese equivalent of FHM or something similar. i would imagine they are more artistic than most photos in those sorts of magazine. (i have now seen the photos...well i have seen some and i assume they are the ones.)
and yes, i agree that when somebody is a 'celebrity' we do look upon them differently, perhaps like we have the right to see them in that situation.
i think to define them as 'wrong' we would have to fully understand the context in which they were taken and whether they were exploitive.
i know that by law in the UK a 13 year old celebrity wouldn't have a lot of say as to what they do (in regards to photo-shoots) so was the decision to pose nude made by her or a 'responsible adult'?
and once again i agree with you about it would be a different story if she were 17. although, by british law that would still be illegal (oh no, the 'I' word again!).
i think this is where things get a little cloudy...if the photos originated from a country were it is 'legal' for them to be taken, where does the law stand on people from outside of that country (where it would be 'illegal' to take the same photos) looking at them?
it's a question i don't know the answer to...any thoughts anyone? on law or morality!

me, waste company time? with my reputation! hell yeah!!! death to the corporation!
sorry lost myself for a minute there!
speaking of english law...how f'd up is it that you can have a child, a husband or wife and give yourself cancer by smoking (yes, i know...i can see the irony) by the age of 16...but you aren't old enough (ie: not responsible enough) to vote or even have a drink (legally).
surely having a child is a far bigger responsibilty than voting in some a-hole or getting wrecked on J.D and ending up in the emergency room?!

and don't worry 'Mycernius'...we have all looked at FHM. the guy that lived in my place before me was a subscriber and we still get his issue of FHM...of course i don't open it because he still collects his post! (damn!). but seriosuly, if yu can find an issue of smart girls (which has ended- so only back issues) or Love Smart (which is from the same people) it's worth a look...and if you find somewhere online (in the UK) where i can get a copy...let me know!!!

http://www.ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm
[M = Male, F = Female...obviously)
Japan - 16/18 (M/F) 16/18 (M/M) 16/18 (F/F)
i assume the reason its between two ages depends on where in Japan you are.
this isn't the site i saw before...but it seems fairly accurate.

that's english law for you!
also, if sex is defined as art it is ok...we've all seen nude/sexual paintings/sculptures in art galleries on school trips, but to look at something similar under the title 'pornography' then that would be against the law.

Pulp Fiction was his best as far as I'm concerned. I've noticed with Hero they are billing the DVD as Quentin Tarantino presents Hero. A bit of a sneaky way to get people to buy the film. My dance teacher almost bought it because she didn't read the packaging properly. She thought it was a film by QT. Had to point out that it was a Chinese film in Chinese and subtitled in English. She doesn't like subtitled films. It's a pity though, because the film is bloody brilliant, go out, buy it, you won't be disappointed. The only QT bit is his interview with Jet Li. It's a cases of clever packaging. They have done the same with Asimov's 'I,Robot'. Put Will Smith on the front and people will buy the book thinking it is the film, not a collection of short robot books by Asimov (one of the best Sci-fi writers in my own personal opinion). The film is based on about three of Asimovs stories.

i saw this as a slightly obvious reference to battle royale. i think maybe my opinion of the film was marred due to watching asian cinema such as battle royale and game of death (the yellow jump suit was worn by Bruce Lee in Game Of Death, the film itself is average and bruce lee died before the film was completed so a body double was cast in his role - i think it may have been jackie chan, but i haven't seen the film in years).
i think if kill bill opens up the world of eastern film to a western audience then it serves a good purpose. however, personally, the film was a huge disappointment.

 XD - It's OK Smoke, you don't have to love Suicide Club.... I agree with you that the movie was cool in the beginning but.. gets a little dumb in the end. But still, it's a cool movie. And the mommy cutting of her finger..

YAAAY! 5.6.7.8's are soo good, they REALLY rock! I wanna see them live sometime!

High expecatitons suck. No one should have them. I bet thousands of people ruin movies to themselves everyday by having too high expectations...

He could be one of the greatest fans of her works partly through the fact that he respects her enough not to be a stalker?

Kill Bill? Oh Gogo? Not seen it yet, will on friday but one of my best friends saw it and he loved Gogo! Said she didn't deserve to die. And Battle royale? And Ju-On? All 3 movies I plan to see, Kill Bill and Battle Royale hopefully fairly soon as u-On a.s.a.p.

If I like, I'll find out more about her and maybe join ^.^

NOOO!!! NOOOO!!!! BAD LIAM!

I didn't know her name yet, not seen volume 2 yet.... pffft.

I liked O-Ren Ishii better as a character, but Gogo had a tiny part so I guess that doesn't help... the "Do you want to screw me?" bit was great...

It looks like I actually found some fans of hers that actually want to see her do more then get killed in every movie. I'm not sure if she gets killed in Scrap Heaven, I know she makes a bomb and she gets rather negatively affected by the whole incident on the bus, but I don't know if she dies in it.

Azumi 2, which I own, she dies and I was none too pleased at how easily, many people said since it was so close to Kill Bill it was really a rip off of her Gogo character.

I know she shoots herself in the head in MPD-Psycho and she ends up already being dead in Mail and then she gets "sent" by the guy she loves or whatever, which really, disappointed me... to say the least. Great Yokai, she plays Agi and she is in love with the main evil character I don't know if she dies there, but I hope not. I do know that she has a horror movie coming out end of this year, beginning of next and I believe she played a comedy type character on a TV drama a few months back, so a little diversity seems to be creeping in, which is good.

The main thing that I am focusing on is what I hope to get published which really delves into more of the Kill Bill story and introduces new characters along with explaining a number of things that are passed over in Volumes One and Two, as well as showing how Beatrix survived being shot in the head. It introduces Yuki Yubari who was cut out of the movie and the person who trained Gogo as well as created her weapon. And I've actually written in the return of Chiaki's character, which is actually helped by the movies themselves ironically.

All-in-all I've been told that it's a very good story whether you're a fan or not. I use the first four chapters to give people a feel for what I have written, if you're interested, I've got no problem with sharing, but many, many people have told me that they think that once I'm finished typing, if I can sit down with Tarantino directly, they don't see how he could say no, especially since he tried to write a book in 2003 for Kill Bill and cancelled it.

I think that Chiaki Kuriyama is a great actress and can portray spoken and unspoken dialogue and emotion better then I've seen too many other actresses. The only problem is that as a non-Japanese I've got no shot to really get the chance to enjoy her movies and TV shows until months and months later, so, after not picking up a pen for almost 15 years, I said I think I might finally use the little bit of skill I have to do something worthwhile.

I already have an outline for my next book in which the main female character is specifically written for her and her name is Sayoko Yoma and when I finish this Kill Bill follow-up, whether I get approval to publish it or not, the next book is all of my own design and creation, so I won't have to worry about anything regarding permission from anyone else. I want to see her talent spread not just throughout Japan, but beyond and I think I just might have the writing skills to do that.

^ wow sounds interesting. Good luck with your books!

And I really do like Chiaki Kuriyama. Though I haven't seen a lot of her movies I believe she stands out from other actors and actresses. I really want to watch Last Quater and Scrap Heaven. I'll have to find a way to get them.

Thanks! I... should be asleep now. I just finished looking for more information and found out that David Carridine is set to release a book about Kill Bill, but all it is about is his time filming the movie and Tarantino. I also found that a guy by the name of David Polk did a book last year, but it was a scrapbook about the movie and was not a real story.

Sorry if I spelled domo arigato wrong. I'm still learning, but I'm trying to find ways to practice. I'll say this much, I encountered a guy who felt as though people who liked Kill Bill... don't actually read books. He read the first four chapters and he was flabberghasted that I had taken all of this time to write about something that he felt the actual creator didn't take time to develop himself.

I think Tarantino was trying to pull off something that is actually impossible. He wanted to make a movie that was all action in one half and then a little action, but plot and dialogue in the other. I still believe that this is the main reason for the split of Kill Bill, it just doesn't work as one solid movie the styles are too different.

Either way, I am pressing forward because I believe that Chiaki actually portraying Gogo after failing to protect her mistress and the demise of most of the Crazy-88 and how she would try to recover from such a catastrophe would prove pretty challenging when written from the role of not just pure action, but actual character development and allowing the reader to see why she was the way she was in the movie and actually flesh out the character.

I just realized that their is a fanfic section here... maybe I should put a chapter there, then again the first chapter is 35 pages, I dunno. Maybe what I NEED to do is take myself to sleep, it's damn near 4am here.
Later!

Yep, I'm a fan :relief: It's nearly 6:30am here and I've been going over things. If you are looking for a site that involves Chiaki you can find it right here;

http://p205.ezboard.com/bthefandomzone

It's a fansite dedicated to Chiaki Kuriyama which was started by this guy named Zanlius who lives in Chicago, Illinois. IT's been in existance for about three years now and I've been a member for almost two years. It's an EZ Board site so you would need to register to be able to post. Last time I checked some people were having problems because of passwords being denied after they filled out the registration. I eventually found out that it was because EZ Board was running out of passwords so they would give new members a generic one. So if you sign up there and then it says that your password doesn't work, just look for the option for them to send you your log-on and password to the email address that you used to register and when you get it, you should see that your original password was changed to a random number by EZ Board.
:okashii:

Okay, that was a lot of typing. So, what made you a fan? :-)

Hi,

That's not a lot, I find interest in your text because it's talking about things directly in my interest. O_o, a complete board dedicated to Chiaki :)

I'll register this afternoon.

First visual contact with Chiaki was with Tanrantino's Kill Bill. Since this event, I was reserching all movies in which Chiaki was involved, even if it was just for a few minutes. Gradually, I discover the japanese cinema.
I can't take my eyes out of a picture of her. Can't say she's beautiful, but she's so attractive, such a mysterious attraction on me :)

I'll post more latter, I'm at work actuelly.

Well, it's been a while :-)
I finished the two books that I was working on; Walking Dead and Phoenix Rising
However, :souka: I decided NOT to publish them! LOL!!!! Really, I have been in contact with a number of people involved with Kill Bill and as I got further and further I realized that if I actually put the books out, they would be a success of failure under the merits of; Quentin Tarantino Presents.
So any success I had would be attributed to Tarantino much more than my actual skill with the pen. :relief: So, I decided to set them aside. Walking Dead is 420 pages and Phoenix Rising is 350. I have gotten some very good reviews from people in the writing realm and a number of people have even suggested that I simply remove all elements involving Tarantino and go from there, but then? If I do that, what was the reason behind writing the books in the first place.
My Chapter One was so well received by one English Professor he actually brought me books to help in the publishing process and gave me contact information  , it feels good to be acknowledged as an actual person with writing potential, but... I want my work to stand on its own and finally I can do that.
I started Lady Yoma in early December, just bits and pieces, concepts. It's a sci-fi-drama and once again I would like Chiaki Kuriyama to one day bring the lead character of Lady Yoma to life. I have already finished Chapter One and I am working on Chapter Two. I have been progressing in my Japanese Audio lessons and I have been working on my writing even more. I have met some interesting people and I hope that I can finish the book by the end of the Spring.
