Hi! My name is Rydia and I live in the United States. I am not Japanese but I have a great interest in the culture. I'm a college student in Pennsylvania, and I have chosen to interview a person that has either lived or is currently living in Japan about the Japanese culture. There are ten questions, all in English.

Would anyone be willing to answer these questions through email? I will only be using your answers to hand in as an assignment; they won't be posted on the internet or any other public place. The questions are simple, mostly about traditions, holidays, and activities. If you are willing to help me with this, please reply to this post or contact me through email.

Thanks so much!

Well, I figured I would list the questions. If anybody interested would be so kind to either reply to this post with answers or email me (through the link in my profile), it would be much appreciated!

1. What is your primary language? What languages are commonly spoken within your culture?
2. Describe any traditions that are unique to your culture.
3. What holidays do you celebrate?
4. What is your religious background?
5. Describe a typical meal, as well as the most common foods in your culture.
6. Non-verbal communication plays a big role in understanding one another. What kinds of signals, whether with hands, head, or whole body, are commonly used, and what do they mean?
7. What kinds of rituals are typically performed when greeting one another? (ex: hug, shake hands, kiss) When getting introduced for the first time?
8. How big or small are typical families in your culture? Do immediate and extended families exist, or are they somewhat merged as one? What is your family like?
9. What are the most common types of recreation or activities for children in your culture? For teenagers? Adults?
10. What are the most common professions in your culture?

Thank you!
