because everyone in here is trying to learn the language(at least i think...i dont think someone who already knew the language or wasnt interested in it would go to the learning japanese forums)i think that there should be a thread in all romaji.
so
just as long as inuyasha the kid doesnt get in here then we should be ok...
so
konnichiwa!
boku no namae wa kimbaa cam kun desu
hajimemashite
doozo yuroshiku
watashi wa koo-koo sei desu
daigaku ichinen-sei desu

Well, there are actually quite a few people that can hold their own in Japanese, to say the least. Otherwise, no questions would be answered.
I will say that I think that bothering with romaji at first is a pretty bad idea... I think it becomes a crutch. My first semester we had it above the kana to help us bail out... 2nd semester it was gone. I thought that was a fantastic approach. Again, just my opinion.

I agree, I think maybe there should be a beginners thread or something but either way you need people to answer your questions and romaji is a bad habit. I learned the kana easily with all the quizzes and whatnot online. They kinda shove it down your throat if you go to enough japanese lesson places. It really shouldn't be a problem and having a board full of it might even train people to get used to romaji instead of kana which is definately not good.
I still like PaulTB's kanji for romaji: ˜R–‚Žš.* :D:D Actually, I think originally his sig was "Is the kanji for Necronomicon ˜R–‚Žš?" or something like that.
*I'm not sure he's the one who came up with it, but he's the first one I saw use it.
By the way, I agree with GaijinPunch and McCrutch67. A better idea would be for the beginners to make a hiragana-only thread for practice, or maybe just limit it to a few simple (i.e. beginner's or common) kanji.
