I was wondering how you figure out the numbers that match japanese alphabet.
Example - miyabi = 382

Errr... no clue unless you have a dictionary like the Nelson. It's really not something that comes up though.

Shouldn't that be 381 anyway?

That whole number word thing does come up occasionally in jokes or as a shorthand on messages, and like on tv commercials to help people remember phone numbers like a few fears back when I lived there there was a tv commercial for some balding product or something that they sang the number followed by fusa fusa. I was so confused till my wife explained that fusa fusa meant bushy haired and also was their phone number:2323 fu...futatsu sa...san

I am not aware of a complete list of them and I wasn't aware that bi=2 I've heard of
1=i hi
2=ni fu
3= sa or mi
etc. etc.

1=i hi
2=ni fu
3= sa or mi
etc. etc.

That's why I think it should be 381.

Also, you made an allusion to Œê˜C (goro), which is like a mnemonic device for learning numbers. Read halfway down this post (http://www.sf.airnet.ne.jp/~ts/japanese/message/jpnDQs4uCYwDQpRzOrN.html) to see some stuff that will blow your mind!
