cool..! just spotted this. i have the "Remembering the Kanji" by Heisig. i have just started reading it as of this weekend. his methods are really quite good i think. i also have this book on the way:Essential Kanji (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0834802228/qid=1113240292/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/102-6026695-5588157)

hopefully with these two books ill get a good grasp of the kanji...
