Harvey, you live in Nara? Before moving to Japan I got ready for the trip by reading your webpage, and I check back every so often, but I never payed attention to the location. That's totally awsome, I'd love to meet you some time! You're like a celebraty to me! But anyways if you had any more details about the object, please tell me, I'm about 10 minutes away from the temple (and I visited it two days ago) so I could check it out on a lunch break or something

Hey Gord,

Actually I was in Tokyo/Yokohama for the first 1.5 years of this Japan thing. I just recently relacated to Nara/Osaka area. What are you doing in Nara Gord?

Hey Cordell, Gord seems closer than I to the target charm! Maybe he can pick it up! If not, I'll try to follow-up.

Fighto!

no problem!
you could do paypal or something! Do you know if its sold in the stands on the way to the temple or in the actual temple? There's a 500yen charge to get in. Any more info or even pics would be awsome, because I don't speak enough japanese to describe that to someone :(

You could also pay Gord by buying him a book or something on amazon.com. Just an idea.

The general term for "charm" is "omamori" お守り。

The one that is for women to give a safe birth is for "安産" "anzan"

But.. you're looking for a different one huh.

I can't find the name of that one that is to help you get pregnant... Hrm....

My Japanese firend said it might be this.
子宝のお守り "kodakara" omamori.

Maybe this it?

ok, bright orange and in the temple, that should be good enough but a picture or something (even a drawing) would be great, I don't wanna go in there and come out with the wrong thing! keep me posted

oh hey harvey I didn't even notice your second post, sorry! Right now I'm in Nara because my roomate got a job here, so I came on over for lack of anything else to do. I came from Osaka, so it's a big change but so far it's pretty cool. Where are you living? I'm close to JR Nara station, your webpage inspired me to make my own webpage, which is on its way! I need your autograph or something, haha :p

Gord you should take a pic of everything in there with your keitai and post them on the board. Then we can identify. If you don't have a server to put the pics, you can send the keitai pics to me and I'll post them!

It probably looks like a teabag right cordell?

Funny, I missed that message too!

I live on Kintetsu near GAKUENMAE. Small world!

Hey actually I got my inspiration to make a website from Greggman (http://www.greggman.com) I met him while I was living in Tokyo!

Didn't get his autograph though...

ok, I'll go to the temple pretty soon, and look for, pretty much, an orange tea bag? It should be no problem, so I'll keep you posted! Email gordonjprice@hotmail.com if you don't want to clutter this thread too much, i'll let you know within the next few days! And harvey, that's so close to me, we should go eat ramen one day soon, there's this ramen place really close to my house, big bowls for 180yen, it's not overly delicious but hey, 180 yen!
