so, the Iron Dick festival isnt a hoax, I heard about it from a friend. But I thought it was a joke. I saw a tv show, on Japan, and they made mentioned of a terracotta dick that people try to jump over. but I thought I misunderstood it.

apparently this kind of festival is not all that uncommon around japan
but most of the japanese people i know had never heard of this particular one

A friend in Chiba (actually, she's moving to Tokyo this week, but still) told me about either that or a similar festival, and that it's celebrating male fertility. Things like that couldn't be gotten away with here--America in general or Georgia in particular. We're too far down into the bible belt.

:D Isn't this festival a celebration of fertility or something? I watched some TV show and they went to Japan during this festival. I just think it's so hilarious. When is it held?
