Hello again. ^^
Recently I've come across this phrase, and I'm a little confused of the meaning and how it's used. :clueless: From what I can glean, it's supposed to be along the lines of "didn't happen", right?
Also, I've never come across ようと before, and I haven't been able to find anything that can help me.
[pretend?] it didn't happen
forget ---?
I pretended it didn't happen
something about forgetting...
I'm terribly hopeless. :gomen:

Hi! What about these translations?
pretend it didn't happen or forget that there was any such thing, I would say.
try to forget. ....しようとする try to do something

So, can it be used as "to forget" the same way as 忘れる? Or is it meant to be more "pretend to forget"? If you wanted to say something like "I forgot my keys at home", could you use it there?
And how would you translate it in this sentence:
もうそんな風に無かった事にするな
Thank you for your help! :-)

It's more like "pretend to forget" than just "to forget" or rather "decide to preted to forget", maybe. As I'm not a native speaker of English, I have difficulties in expressing myself clearly in English and I don't really understand small nuances of meanings.
I forgot my keys at home. would be 家にかぎを忘れた。
Don't pretend like that that it didn't happen.?????? (I can't really translate it well. Correct my English, please)
or you may add "try to" before "pretend" in this case.

I think you translated it pretty well, but I'd say
"Don't pretend like that that stuff didn't happen anymore"
