I absolutely love how the "Golden Prince" thing came about.
dutch baka - (it feels weird to call someone that, haha) I would love to see a site about Kobe, i've only been there once but I loved every second of it
mikecash - all my friends back home call me golden now, it's so weird but that's japan for you ;)
Good website! With some great stories! So do you guys miss Japan now that you are back in the great white north? Why didn't you guys extend your visa and stay there for a year? I did a WHV in Tokyo last year, and I'm planning to stay in Osaka for 3 months starting FEB06.

blade> I don't miss Japan because i'm still here, and now update the site daily, but I know i will miss it when I do leave. You're very smart for chosing Osaka, I love osaka so much!

Very nice. The only part of Osaka I was able to see was the vicinity around Osaka Castle last summer, so your photos showed what I missed. We were only in Osaka for about a couple of hours visiting the castle as we had to head back to Kyoto for some tour members to go to Toei Studios.
I posted some photos of our trip to Japan on my photo page:

Hey Gord when I read your entries it reminds me of when I was in Japan, I also used to hang out with a j-rock band, but they were called Roscus!
I just read your June entry and I know exactly what you're going through right now because you have to leave Japan in a few days. I feel for you man because you have to go back to the nothingness of Prince George. I was going through the same thing when I was leaving Tokyo after a year and going back to Toronto. No I wasn't going back to a small boring city but to a big city that I can only enjoy a few months in the summer when its not freezing cold for 9 months of the year! I still go through reverse culture shock I miss Japan tremendously! So that is why I will return for 3 months in JAN 06 (the longest a Canadian can stay in J-land on a tourist visa) and one month in Indonesia to visit my best friend. And then back to my minimum wage job at the record store to save up more money for another trip!
