You are so lucky! We have no stores in Moscow that specialize in rock-stuff.. I don't know why (16 mln people live in the city and no hard-rock cafes and specialised stores).. As Wataru writes all the lyrics for 12012 he likes to be called "creator" instead of "vocalist". In one interview he said that he suffers a lot when he's writing lyrics. Also he said that he can't really trust people, and always tries to figure out what's going on in others' heads. And this makes him feel lonely. (it was quite a shocking thing for me.. cuz Wataru usually laughing and joking around a lot). Well what esle..
He played soccer in elementary and high school. However, he completely gave it up for the sake of music. (Lucky for us, ne? ^^)
He likes to read a lot, he said reading is as much of a daily habit for him as brushing teeth. ^^

Our lovely Tohru wanted to play the guitar as a child, but his parents didn't want to buy him one. :okashii: In order to win their favor, he would put strings on a cardboard box and "perform" for them. :D

He loves ballads much. He would love to sing ballads when going to karaoke bars with the other band members, but he restrains himself, because it would make the mood gloomy. He is 12012's main composer (although all band members take part in writing songs) and he was the one who suggested to Wataru that they should form a band (which became 12012 <3).
Hiroaki has 2 Dan in karate. http://gayru.org/images/smiles/smile_kar.gif He actually wanted to be a karate teacher, and study sciences at the university as well! (His parents might be crying right now. :D)
Aki's father used to be in a band, too. He visited some of Aki's concerts, sometimes leaving in the middle of the show because "the sound was bad". :D
Since the US tour the others call him "Hiroyaki" (maybe this is how the american pronunciation sounded to them.) :D :lol:

Tomo's father is a shakuhachi master (traditional Japanese bamboo flute), he used to try to "jam" with Tomo while he was practicing the piano, but he only managed to annoy his short-tempered son. :D :lol:
Tomoyuki likes movies very much, especially Johnny Depp's Edward Scissorhands. (He's a huge Johnny Depp fan! Wataru actually calls him "Johnny". :D) He also likes to read a lot, especially classical literature, one of his favorite books is "White Nights" by Dostoevsky. Tohru: I'm on stage. There's a huge drum set, and the live house is also so big you can't see the back. The curtain is opening, but I don't know what's the first song. Wataru is looking at me: "Hurry up!" So I start counting the beat, but it's all messed up. Wataru says "We're finished!" and the curtain comes down. In this dream I really felt like my life as a musician was over. I was all covered in sweat when I woke up.
Wataru: Because you leave out songs sometimes. It's the same as in your dream.
Tohru: I do... (laughs) That dream came true!

Hiroaki: I saw a dream of our live in Astro Hall. We played five encores. Before the fifth song I thought, I have to go home!

Wataru: I've been photographed holding a knife. I was planning to use a butterfly knife at lives. Then I dreamt that the knife flew away, and it cut a fan in the face. But she didn't notice, and danced on. I was terribly nervous until the song ended. So I've decided not to use knives at lives.

Yes. Actually on February 14th 2007 the graduation ceremony was held for 12012, Vidoll, and Phantasmagoria - who graduated from Under Code Productions. According to various sources, Kisaki had explained that they are now ready for bigger and better things... In fact the boys are going major, but it is still unclear what label they will have. However Rame (Vidoll) implied that the 3 bands will stay together, wherever they will go.

Tomorrow it will at last become the so called day of UNDER CODE graduation.
Although we're graduating I think I'll still be able to do this "aibou" for a little while, but as an UNDER CODE affiliate this the last aibou, the image is a 2shot of president KISAKI-san who I'm indebted to even until now... Truly thanks!
I want to talk lots about KISAKI-san and my UNDER CODE companions but... there's still tomorrow! We're not done yet!! (laughs)

Well.. when I found out that 12012 was switching the labels I had really mixed feelings about that.. To tell the truth I still have.. mmm... I understand that maybe Ichi ni outgrew already Undercode and need a bigger label to handle their promotion, ect. And maybe if they decided to go in this direction it makes/keeps them happy as artists. But at the same time I'm afraid that they will repeat the destiny of some indies that went major and lost their VK image, became totaly comertialized.. Well the only thing that remains to us is to wait for thier new album. I hope 12012 will release it in spring.

Well.. I'm a rather new to Ichi ni (know them less than a year), and I completely missed their visits to Europe... I just read this today and I must admit I was shocked / surprised! Some people are saying that Wataru is already released from custody. I don't have the official source..and since Free Will and their management haven't announced anything yet about Wataru and the band's situation.. I'm not too sure about it.

But since he settled with the victim out of court, I think its true.

I'm glad he settled out of court, so hopefully things will calm down and it's not going to be a huge fuss and dent in 12012's reputation. It was a bad thing to do, but it shouldn't affect people listening to 12012... when you think of all the rock bands who act like they are gods and do all sorts of crazy, violent and stupid things, which is not cool at all, but their music is not any less because of it.

It's a question of separating the artist from their work. :)

Hey guys! This thread needs a kick-start..

12012's SHINE has already been released! I've listened to it, and it sounds good. The title song Shine sounds Alice Nine-ish, Wataru's vocals are really awesome, and their instrument playing is perfect!

Innocent Sight is a slow-paced song, it sounds cool but the song lacks creativity.

The third song rocks! More rock and there's a pinch of growling added by Wataru which is always a plus in my book..xD

Last song is a ballad-y song, they've added some piano which gives it a really beautiful feeling, and Wataru sings with lots of emotion! Overall it's a nice song.

I can probably say that I'm satisfied with this release. They need to work more on the creativity department in my opinion, but in terms of the quality of their instrument-playing, its perfect! Especially guitar..xD

Great news for 12012 fans! They will be releasing a new album named DIAMOND on 12/12 this year. It's their first release under Universal Records!

One will contain 12 tracks + a bonus song (3000 yen), the other will contain 12 tracks + a 30 min. long making of (3300 yen).

I just finished listening to Diamond.. I absolutely loved it!! x333 There's some experimental stuff on it which is different, but it all works perfectly for me.

I also loved that they did lots of harder songs which is a must for me, and the rest of the songs didn't dissapoint either.. I just thought that Diamond which they made a pv of, was rather bland.. >.< but I liked some parts of the song.. :]

i just wana ask if anyone else thinks that the concept for the merry go world video was partly Tomo's idea? the video has a kind of Sweeney Todd feel to it and we all know how much Tomo likes Jonny Depp. in fact he posted a picture in his blog showing Sweeney Todd playing on a tv screen.... just my lil theory....

I watched the pv last week and you don't know how much I am disappointed :(
the song was so so dull and yes there is a stroy line which is sad but it didn't make me so interested. I wish the tone was sad, but it wasn't. I was expected something like OVER or Diamond. Even the PV focused on the drama and not on the members of the band, I was like I wish I could see the others but I was like it is good thing I saw Wataru :love:
I watched it more than once thinking that I might changed my mind, but I didn't :(
I really miss their dark music like Wana, Pistol and
icy~cold city~
I don't know what happened to Wataru and his vision about the world around him. Does that mean he sees things differently now??
but it doesn't mean that I give up on them:blush: Wataru is one of my top three fav guys :love: I will stay loyal to them:blush:

I agree with you. I'd watch the PV and I have to say that the song doesn't suit 12012 so well. Heavier songs suits them the best :haihai:

i'm glad i'm not the only one who felt a bit odd about the song after i watched it. i didn't wana say i was disappointed, but i kinda was, and it's annoying cos we know that they can make amazing songs. i'm not saying the song is bad, it's just not my sorta thing really. i miss the old stuff. i had a look at the oricon daily chart the day it came out, it got to no.30, so congrats to 12012 for getting in the chart :)

their songs all interlinked to create a story about "madness inside humans" the main character is a boy who slowly goes mad and does a lot of bad things including murder. there's 55 songs in the series. the series finished just before the Diamond album so those songs and all those after are unrelated to the plot.

12012 is looking for fans to become extras in the shooting of their newest music video!
The extras will be acting as a live audience for the video, and the shooting takes place on December 3rd starting at 5:00pm for approximately three to four hours.
The location will be in Tokyo’s Suginami Ward, and they’re taking applications starting on November 25th at 8:00pm. The ending time will be decided depending on how many entries they receive.
Those who are chosen will be notified on the 26th.
There’s no real specifications for entering, you just need to send your name, age, gender, telephone number and cell phone e-mail address
