What do y'all think of the new album? I only just listened to it for the first time, and I was kinda distracted because... well, because I'm knackered and I was doing other things at the time too (I know, sacrelidge! XD), so I haven't got much opinion yet other than that I like it; it didn't kill me like Houyoku did, but there are some really cool basslines once again, and also it seems like they are doing some different things, which is cool. :-)

I have heard so much about Mucc, but I never really listened to them. I have maybe two or three songs that I really really like, but even though I like those songs I never bothered to go and get some more. But yea I am curious about them. Well since some people have already written about Germany and the party in Paris, I thought I'd just throw in some bits about the concert there. Because that was undeniably the best concert of my life T____T <-happy tears

It was so different, the ambiance! It was striking how much interaction between them and us there was! It seemed that they really cared about our reactions. And this amazing, amazing feeling of them being completely less reserved and distant than in Berlin. And I'm saying this even though the things like 'reserved' and 'distant' were the last things on my mind in Berlin. Omg.

It can also be because they were late and seemed to have some technical problems at the beginning so I felt as if they were trying to make it up for us.

Tatsurou was bursting with energy, he even climbed at some of the club's construction. He was dancing his Tatsu dance A LOT in all the genki songs, coming surprisingly close to the audience, asked us to dance with him during Tonbi, and seemed to be very fond of speaking (mostly in Engrish and some French but he spoke some Japanese too so yay ^^). At one point he pretended to choke himself with the mic cable, which wan't cheesy at all, it was cool. All his gestures are cool.
He invented (?) a new gesture, btw, which he used a lot; it's like blowing kisses but not with an open palm but with \m/ So cute XD
That, and he did the tongue action (no words to describe it, those who have seen it know what I mean) very, very often.

You know in Kuukyou na Heya there's this part where Tatsurou goes RAAAAAA (2 times) after the first chorus. They played it (omgthankyou) and he did that but I was so taken aback because it was completely different than in the original song and what he did in Berlin. It wasn't just a RAAAA. It was the most powerful, demonic, perfect, deathmetal voice RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ever. The Eiffel Tower shook, the metro trains derailed and I died in the crowd of being impressed too much. I honestly didn't know he was capable of making such an incredible sound. Twice. It was too beautiful T_T

They did TWO encores, there was a very long Yukke solo before Monster and both Yukke and Miya were coming so close that people could touch their guitars.

And Tatsurou said 'I'll be back. I promise' <- quote. Yes, he said I, not we o_O

And they really are going to be back soon, but shhhhh about that for now. Something really big is being planned in Europe... >3

It was a rainy day when we met MUCC in their hotel for an interview.

Tanja : Firstly, hello everyone.
Some fans feel that 6 is a synthesis of all your work; do you agree?
Miya : In fact, 6 is more like a B-side of Houyoku.

Reyep : Have your travels abroad influenced your music?
Miya : There are a great number of things that we couldn’t have known before coming to Europe. It has taught us a lot of things and also opened our eyes. Because of this, we’ve progressed a lot.

Tanja : The cover of the regular version of 6 is a parody of the poster for your first concert in the Budokan; is that a publicity thing or your decision? [She uses the word “délire” which is actually a mental agitation like a delirium O_o, maybe it’s a more informal meaning I don’t know of! – K]
Tatsurou : 6 is a different type of album than what we’ve done before; we had tried to make a noteable design with a particular cover which is a change from what we’ve done up until now. When you have a concert at the Budokan, in the same breath you are inspired to make a photo as a poster for the Budokan. It’s a blink of the eye which points up the original. [I can’t find a better way to translate it. It’s like he’s saying that it somehow emphasises the original, but it won’t translate exactly. – K]

Tanja : Indeed, the Budokan is a big, well known venue, almost mythical; what were your feelings/impressions before the big evening?
Tatsurou : We’d already played there for events. But the fact of being able to play alone in that big venue, having already seen it full for other very well-known groups, impressed us. We’d seen these images since we formed the band, and to finally be there, it was a great event for us. [I was a bit confused by that sentence; I think someone meant to write “sens” instead of “sans”, it makes more sense that way. – K]

Reyep : You can hope to play at the Tokyo Dome one day!
(The band laughs at the comment)

Tanja : Besides the Budokan, have you chosen a standing or seated concert? [She uses the word “fosse” which means “pit”, but I doubt she was referring to the pit only. – K]
Tatsurou : All seated.

Reyep : At the start of your career, you were more visually orientated. Where did the change come from?
(Long pause, Tatsurou thinks for a long time)
Tatsurou : hmmm… Before, we gave more importance to our costumes, but at the same time we had to adapt to the evolution of our music. At the moment, perhaps we give more importance to the creation of our music. At the same time, we have felt the need to refine our style and not use so much makeup.

Tanja : You talk a lot during your photoshoots; is that also the case in life?
Tatsurou : When you’re not working, you mess about a lot [can also be translated like as “talk rubbish” – K], but otherwise, when you’re working you’re serious.

Tanja : On your official site, you can see a short clip of footage where we can appreciate your talents as actors. Are you going to work in drama?

Tanja : Why do you play barefoot?
Tatsurou : In the first place, it’s a lot more practical for moving about on the stage. Then, at first I wore boots to go with my stage costume. But in a live, because of pressure, stress, movement, it wasn’t practical and I ended up taking them off. In fact, I’d prefer to wear sneakers, but we’re not really a group that wears sneakers. So we stayed barefoot.

Reyep : But there are bands like Nirvana, grunge bands, who sing songs as dark as yours, and they wear jeans and sneakers.
Tatsurou : You see us as like Nirvana?
Reyep : No, not really [That translates kind of throwaway and casual; he could equally have said, “Actually, no”, or “Honestly, no”. – K]
(NLDR: Notice that at the concert YUKKE wore a T-shirt that said GRUNGE in big letters…)

Reyep : What did you think of the event at the Klub?
Tatsurou : It was very nice and the cosplay was interesting, too.

Reyep : What do you think of fans who live on the other side of the world and who dress like you in your earlier days?
Tatsurou : Oh! It’s funny, I ask myself: “Hmmm… But where do they find their inspiration and the photos?!”

Reyep : After Otakon (American convention), you go to play in the US. What are your feelings?
Tatsurou : Yes, we’ll go there in summer. At the moment, we’re still not fully aware of it [In the way of meaning that it hasn’t fully sunk in. – K], so we’ll see when we get there, but we’ve already had the experience of playing in Europe. So, we’ll have a different approach from our first concerts in Europe. We’ll go there and do well!

Reyep : Are there any other countries that you’d like to play in or meet artists that you like, like The Rasmus in Finland?
Tatsurou : Actually, we’d like to go to Finland. In Japan, we played with The Rasmus and we talked about eventually doing concerts with them in Europe.

Tanja : Are there any other countries you’d like to go to?
Tatsurou : England, Korea…
SATOchi : Northern Poland

Tanja : With polar bears and seals?
SATOchi : I’d really like to eat seal.
(Everyone bursts out laughing!)

Tanja : Have you found differences between the audiences in Europe, Japan, etc?
Tatsurou : They’re always very different.

Reyep : Even between European countries?
Tatsurou : Yes, there are differences between Germany and France, and even in France, you can feel a difference between Paris and the country.

Reyep : What did you think about the other dates in France?
Tatsurou : There was an atmosphere of mania! [Insanity, madness, call it what you will… - K] The audiences were really into it. [He actually says “chaud” (“hot”) but that doesn’t translate easily at all. – K] We ask ourselves why no other Japanese group has gone to the south. They’re really stupid not to have gone there! (Everyone laughs) [It’s translated as to have said “cons” which is stronger than “stupid”, as it has also the meaning of “****” etc. XD – K]

Tanja : People were crazy before you went on stage?
Tatsurou : People had their arms in the air, people were excited. [He actually said “on s’étire” which is like “stretched out”, so I translated it as people having their arms in the air, in that context. – K]

Tanja : Have people tried to press you to release a ‘best of’ CD? [I can only translate “CD de reprises” like that… like a CD of old material… - K]
Tatsurou : Since we started doing concerts, each time we do a replay. And as we go along, as we do one different one each time, we end up with a repertoire of about 30 songs. We’d like to do an album of our old stuff, it doesn’t matter when, but we’ve never had the time. And, when we do have, we’re recording. Apart from releasing that kind of album in the time-honoured way, it takes time and it’s complicated. Then, for the first time we might release it under one particular condition: to participate in a concert at the Budokan to present that album. [I’m not entirely clear whether that sentence is in the context of “might” or “would”, so I’m erring on the safe side! – K]

Reyep : You’ve released loads of stuff, played lots of concerts, so, are you preparing more surpises for us for the second half of 2006 or are you going to rest?
Tatsurou : No, there won’t be a break.

Reyep : No Japanese group has opened a fan club in Europe, in spite of holding concerts here. What do you think; would you like to open one?
Tatsurou : I think that if a fan club is necessary, why not? But if no group has done it at the moment, it’s because they haven’t taken account of whether it’s necessary or not. Because we’re at a distance and there’s a language barrier, I think would be difficult to manage. We couldn’t offer the same things as to the Japanese fans. But if there is someone who is a MUCC fan and who wants to start a company to create a fan club and is prepared to manage it, we wouldn’t hesitate to meet with that person. [It’s given as “se présenter” which is like to present oneself to, to report for duty or stand for office; that kind of context. – K]

Reyep : A lot of people would be happy to do that but we don’t know who could do it.
Tatsurou : But even in Japan it’s difficult… (The group laughs)

Tanja : Yes, because it’s more practicable to have concert venues in Japan. It’s effectively for a handful of people, but all the same it’s very useful.
Tatsurou : We’d be happy. You don’t want to do it?

Tanja : Err, why not… (Laughter). The bands come to France, but a lot of people come from Japan too, and it’s not easy to find venues if you don’t have someone in situe.
Tatsurou : It would be easier to give infos… Good, we’ll have a meeting this evening!

Reyep : It’s funny you should say that to Tanja, because she’s a recent fan of MUCC. She didn’t used to like Tatsurou’s voice, but on this album, that changed. (NLDR: Tanja slumped down in her chair, and the band laughed…). You either like or dislike his voice, but it doesn’t leave you indifferent.
Tatsurou : Sometimes there is a singer who’s voice I don’t like, but then, all of a sudden, I come to like it. I think that when you don’t like a singer’s voice, it already holds an interest for you and from that moment, there is the possibility of changing from “I don’t like it” to “I like it”. Rather then being indifferent to it. So I totally understand.

Reyep : Tatsurou, how do you convey such emotion, have you suffered previously?
Tatsurou : Last year, with the language barrier, I took into account that I have to put more feeling into my songs. If my lyrics are sad, I have to convey that feeling in the song, because the words aren’t enough. I’ve worked very hard on that during this last year. And I’m happy that it’s bearing fruit.

Reyep : I think that with titles like “Daikirai”, you already convey a lot of emotion.
Tatsurou (in French) : merci

Reyep : Are you ready to go on an even bigger tour in France.
Miya : I wish that every time that we came we could play even more concerts, in even more places, we’re up for it!

I know what you mean, I really want to go to the mucc concerts. Think of going on a Mucc concert in Japan:relief: But then again, I'm not sure I will like it. I've seen clips from concert were they are standing totally still, and I know there is standing and sitting tours, but they are standing still on standing tours. When I'm on a concert I like too have fun and dance, I love mosh pits (well not on Mucc, then I have to see as well, but other concerts:relief:) There are probably a lot of people dancing on their lives in Japan and it probably varies from place to place. And I would love to go
to an concert in Japan, just because it's Mucc in Japan, but I think I will stand out a lot (not that that's a bad thing) and that not just because I'm white and tall but for the way I'm mosh/dances :lol: :D
Does any one know how it's to order concerts tickets in Japan if you live outside of Japan, there is so many roomers going around that says that you can't order a ticket, I think this sounds very strange:relief: I might understand that they can't send us the tickets, but if we came an collected them, there shouldn't be a problem, right?:? The mucc day...I have to go to someones birthday, so my plan didn't work I was planning to gather my friends and watch all the mucc things we have....like the dvds and stuff...
anyway, I'll dress really muccish and do some soft tatsuro make up. and I'll walk bare feet the whole day! it'll be a great day, and it's also the last day of my art exam, I'll do the finishing touches on my beautiful haruka inspired painting:-)

Oh, thank you :hihi: I did my ink painting of Tatsurou but it doesn't look like him I think. :( I should really have done smaller size than A3, but it's so long since I used ink, that I forget things... :( (It was actually black ink, but it's been hanging around in my cupboard for many years, that's probably why it turned blue and yellow! :bluush: )

They seem like such nice personalities, as well as their music being so good, and I think that vibe comes through. You know how, with some bands, if they have really mean personalities, I think that comes across in their music, even if it is a really good sound. Individual personalities don't colour the way I hear music, but I still think that they are somehow conveyed. And some bands are "ugly" (can't think of the right word >_<) even if I still love their music! :blush: But MUCC, I don't think that at all! I get a very nice impression! :-)

Have you guys heard the Cover parade cd? it's really good, I'm hooked. I fell in love imidiadtly. you hear it's Mucc that preform, but because it's not their songs it's totally different. Well they even preform their own song differently:bravo: , I love Mucc.

I listened to the original versions of Nagori Yuki, Kasa ga nai and Wine Red no Kokoro and MUCC's versions are brilliant. They really give those songs some proper character and power ^^ (the same with Kisetsu ga Kimi dake o Kaeru. If you've heard the BOOWY original... it's so different XD)

But I'm disappointed that the Niwaka Ame session is just Niwaka Ame, without Aru Hareta Sora in it. Buaaa I love Aru Hareta Sora T_T Ah well, I have the live version of MUCC's combination of those two songs anyway. Rarr.

(Also~~~ I wish they recorded LINDA LINDA, Natsumatsuri and Saru to Kaigara. AND Oioi Colonboi and Yume no Tzuzuki omggg everything else and I love MUCC covers so so so much~)

Btw um, does anyone know who sings the original Shiki no Uta? I'd love to listen to it and/or read the lyrics because there's this tiny part where I can't make out what Tatsurou's singing thus I can't understand it >_>; I have searched but it was fruitless so far.
Also, in that song, during the 'fuyu' part, I love Yukke so much *falls on knees*

The COVER PARADE was not for sale anywhere (and probably will never be for sale except for Yahoo Japan Auction or something). If you went to MUCC's concert in Tokyo on 06.06 and brought along proofs that you purchased Gerbera, 6 and Ryuusei then they would give you the COVER PARADE mini (which has 6 songs). If you attended this concert, brought all this AND showed them the limited DVD they gave out at MUCC's day of last year, you got the COVER PARADE (12 songs).

The COVER PARADE was not for sale anywhere (and probably will never be for sale except for Yahoo Japan Auction or something). If you went to MUCC's concert in Tokyo on 06.06 and brought along proofs that you purchased Gerbera, 6 and Ryuusei then they would give you the COVER PARADE mini (which has 6 songs). If you attended this concert, brought all this AND showed them the limited DVD they gave out at MUCC's day of last year, you got the COVER PARADE (12 songs).

As a MUCC fan from germany i just HAVE to write here :-)
Yeah and as one of the lucky ones i was at the concert in Cologne.. I really liked Mucc before and I was very insane..but now It even became worse XD
Yeah and my fav is Tatsurou :bluush:
Yeah he kinda makes me feel comfortable.. even when he's singing Kuchiki no Tou or stuff like that (I really was up to cry at the concert.. I swear his voice always touches me sooooo deep.. muoh I still feel like he really touched me.. :( ) ~3 days before the Concert I dreamt of Tatsurou :blush: ~
Mah I started listening to Mucc 4 or 5 years ago.. not thaaat much.. but i really thought they rock.. yeah.. mah then I started to listen to them more intensive and.. yeah what to say... I never ever had the feeling that a band reaches me so much like Mucc does.. ... Dunno.. Sounds weird but every time that I'm listening to Mucc (especially Tatsu's voice *mah*) I feel very comfortable.. like I found my inner peace X_x (sounds weird.. yeah.. like I said.. like a fangirl.. kinda... :relief: )
Anyways.. and stop talking 'bout that crappy stuff now.. it's too late anyways (00:06 now >_>)

Well.. no kidding.. in the one week from when the new album was released until the concert I was listening to it soooo often I knew mostly all songs more or less by heart XD

I really liked when they played Yuu Beni at the concert.. really.. mah the fans were so... YEAH!
The atmosphere was very very great and I was quite impressed about how many were able to sing the texts... (at the Coupling Tour of Despairs Ray and Kagerou realy NOBODY was able to sing when Daisuke pointed the Mic at the fans ... how embarassing X_x )

well but my voice was gone after the concert.. for 3 days :p


aaah really even if there was just a 'small' group of fans.. The atmosphere really was better than expected... even better than the atmospgere on the concert of Dir en grey.., with 3500+ ppl in the columbia hall

I sewared to myself to visit every concert in Germany. ... yeah.. Mucc is Love :love:


AAAh but there was this really embarassing meet and greet where 2 girls were able to meet them right before the concert in Cologne.. they dressed up like typical german goth loli's (the ugly version XD) and stepped in.. and.. Konnichi wa... and... then english talking.. and then.. arigatou.. then english talking... and sayounara... omg.. I dunno how you'd see this but for me it's just embarassing X-x

Yeah.. dunno.. I mean.. I realy like deep voices.. and if they sound 'smokey'... (dunno if it's called like that in english.. well.. uhm.. Kouji Nanjo? XD) but really aaalways when tatsurou is singing it gives me the shivers.. even when singing happy songs... or lovely.. Muoh.. I really..
