So ... I just got back from the MUCC shows at Otakon, and I don't really have words right now to describe how good it was. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love D'espairsRay, and I thought their live shows were some of the best I've ever seen, but MUCC has taken the cake ... by FAR, as being the absolute best band I've ever seen in my life! It was amazing, the vocals were tight, the instruments amazing ... Yukke KILLS it on bass ... KILLS it ... I've never seen anyone play like that. I can't believe I actually experienced 2 lives that great, that intense, everything about them was perfect. I was in the front row for both, right in front of Yukke ... God, I'll explain more in a live report later ... Just know that MUCC has taken the spot as my favorite Jrock band ever, it's incredible how good they are, absolutely incredible.

Actually, truth to be told there is kinda' great possibility that MUCC comes to Finland. There was an MUCC interview in Finnish Anime Magazine and in it they told that they would come here. But somehow I have a feeling that they only said that because there was a Finnish woman interviewing them... Then again, YUKKE is a fan of a Finnish Band The Rasmus and that might be a reason enough to come here... (Ehm, I'm babbling...)

inki, Ayabie is good band. I love them, especially after their live in here. I just meant that I'm a bit sad that the bands I really really love don't come here. Not that I don't love Ayabie as much (Ach, babbling again :blush:)
Anyways-... "Utagoe", the new single. I saw the music video in YouTube. I was a bit shocked first. The music was okay I guess, even though I don't really like the new sound of MUCC. It's too 'commercial' for my ears (and that's probably because I prefer their older albums; Kuchiki no Tou being my fav.). If I listen to it more I think I'll grow to love it just as well. Okay, but now to the video it self. Gee, if you ask my opinion I just say that it was a total flop. It had this ridiculous, just like mrs reita said, 'American/MTV look' in it and it was just :shock:. I mean, what's with the skaters and stuff? The only posivite thing I can think is probably Miya who looked absolutely adorable running with his quitar (:blush:). I just hope, really HOPE, that this isn't going to be the way MUCC is going to be taking :(

Ah~ Japanese Rock music always got a lot of influences from American ways since I first listened to them... Hmmm I don't know you guys will feel that or not, 'cause Japanese people adapt it delicatly and very clever to be their own style...Maybe because of their personalities and background. That's why I really love Japanese music...It is mixed between American and Asian...and 'I' felt some strong influence from Europe in 1996-7 (Hmm maybe because of Malice and Laruku) and thereafter ...actually Yoshiki has some European influence, but I felt more like American thing...and Uta goe's whole PV...wierd..I felt like Japanese stuff more than MTV thing....To tell the truth, I felt it's like un-official Japanese PV when you see in Karaoke!! hahahahaha, and that's why I love it! More than Gerbera's, which kind of too beautiful to be Mucc's PV :p hahahaha. Mucc always makes me luagh XD

I don't know where they are playing next, I think they are doing another tour in Japan later this year (like November or sometime... I did read it somewhere but I forgot >_<) but I don't think there is anything definite for return to the US or Europe dateswise yet.

He uses rasters or some other stickers, I suppose. Getting them done professionally is more than possible although he's obviously very skilled manually himself.

For us unlucky mortals who don't live in Japan where they sell such wonders there are some more time-taking methods (mostly requiring a super thin brush) available but my dwelling on them would turn into one big rant so it's for another forum or something...

I have checkered nails quite often and decided they're a must during their live \m/

My fav songs are from every album :relief: 'cause one of Mucc's talent is that each album is different to each other, but they're all totally Mucku XD You have to try them all!

The name of the song is Waga but Ware is the way to sing in the song ^^ Though it's the same kanji it's pronouce different....I still wonder why that kanji can be pronouce as Waga, the meaning of waga is 'Shadow', as I think by myself :P but the kanji is not this one, which is match with the jacket of the single, but why Waga?????

It's because the kanji can be read in a few ways. While 'ware' means sort of 'I', 'waga' is rather 'my'. Thus 'waga' would seem to make more sense in the title...

But then again I'm 100% SELF taught in Japanese so I might be wrong >_>;

Its PV is the most wonderful thing in the world, btw. After seeing Utagoe I gave myself a shock/disappointment/sadness recovery therapy: I played WagaAru a few times a day until I felt better ^^;

Too bad the only chance I got at a Jrock concert was D'espairsRay at Megacon, because I'd totally have went to see MUCC play as well but I'm not one to have money to travel so far for a band. I only drove 3 hours for D'espairsRay, and it'll be 3 hours again on the 20'th for Dir en grey ;o

I can't even express how amazed I was when I listened to MUCC the first time...basically I was like: "HOLY SH-T!! BEAUTIFUL!!!" but that definitely doesn't do it justice. I was just absolutely blown away.

yeah, where i lived here in Florida, was down south and it takes all day to get out of florida, srsly. well not if you go straight north, but it does if you want to go out of state west. :l now i live in Daytona which is about an hour or less from the Georgia-Florida border. but i dont see much Jrock going on in Georgia either. :l

i would ask for MUCC songs but i did a pretty good job on getting them myself. though, i really only got three albums so i guess if someone wants to be kind <3 and upload some other stuff for me that'd be totally great ^^;;;

I was proved wrong in a hard way though - a long ago, when WinMX was active, I found a file named 'oyoge taiyaki-kun somethingsomething version' and upon downloading it, instead of the normal 'mainichi, mainichi' there was 'day after day'. In ENGLISH x_X; I deleted the file because I didn't want it to riun my image of MUCCness haha.

I also will have to buy Gokusai later because I'm saving for the Merry concert :3 I'm planning to do a huge MUCC splurge and buy all the things they release this year (except Utagoe >_>) and which I don't own yet.

I'm also considering buying the version with bonus songs. Last year I chose Houyoku with dvd and I kind of regret it (even though *I* was on that dvd XD) because Shadan and Saishu Ressha 70s version are so awesome *___* I will buy the other version someday, I guess. Shadan may be a total Ranchuu/Gentou Sanka clone but this is the style I like best and wouldn't mind if they made more songs like that, even though some people would accuse them of being repetitive ._. (<- I see nothing wrong with that)

I finally listened to the whole Horizont single! :happy: (i just copied this entire lot what i wrote from occult proposal XD)

I really like it... I like Horizont better without watching the pv cos i can concentrate better on listening to the details. ^^ Actually i quite like the flute, it's an interestin new touch and takes nicely the melody ^^ and i like the way it contrasts with the bassline (which is pretty cool! :biggrin: ). The melody is nice and laid-back but not too... how to say?... plain, vox nice an clear ^^... are there some echoes of Utagoe tune in the melody?! whatever... yup i like it :) :)

Shinshiki : sg about the rhythm at the beginning reminds me of Tonbi!... it's neat and catchy... but what i like most here is the way the song is unpredictable at the beginning so u can't immediately tell what mood it is gonna take... to me that is interestin... I love that... :love: and I like the staccato bits, and the crunchy guitar playin... *too tired to think up more to say* XD

As for Shoufu : I don't remember well the original, and was too lazy to relisten so i could compare :sorry: ... anyway i like this, gives a heavier touch to the single (a bit like previously they did with the reversion of Daikirai ^^), and the quieter point in the guitar break works really well imo. :)

I personally don't like the sound of the flute, but what you've said made me like it:p :p :blush: It is new touc of their music... Danzetsu has a kind of flute sound too, hasn't it? Or Zutazuta, I can't remember, can't recognize many instruments too:relief::p But it's not like this sound in Horizont:-)

That's why I addicted to them:( They're not confused, I don't know about the interview much.. But Mucc's always know what they want to write a song....The songs just change according to their emotion at that time:-) (especially Miya kun's:blush: )

I love the way that even when their song is heavy, the guitar and bass is melodic... and you can hear it... there is space for all the instruments and you can hear the delicate bits even when the sound is quite dense... and often when the vocals first come in the instruments sort of make space so the vocals don't get drowned out... and Tatsurou's screaming/growling is really good on this album ^^... it seems to combine the best bits of 6 and Houyoku... and... I'll stop blethering on now. :blush:

For everyone who asked, "Kinsenka" is supposed to end that way. I just got the album yesterday and it has this kind-of-weird cut off at the very end. Is that what you guys are talking about?

By the way, Gokusai is so much better than Houyoku. I know I made a comment earlier about how Mucc is all over the place with their music style, but that works amazingly well on this new album. I was pleasantly surprised by their Led Zeppelin-like swagger and stomp in "Risky Drive." That chorus really amuses me...

The new recording of "Gerbera" is great and I'm glad "Ryuusei" no longer ends with a fade out. I was a little irritated with the single version because you could tell there was more song left just as the fade started. Some other good songs are "Gekko" and "25ji no yuutsu." I like how the latter turns into this really laid back space jam.

I wouldn't be surprised if "Horizontal" ends up being the theme song for an anime one day.

And the "la la la" part in "Yasashii Uta" is way too catchy. It's unbelievable.

So, yeah, I'm amazed that Mucc was able to release an album of such high quality even though all they did this year was release stuff almost every other month. Take into consideration that Houyoku, their previous album, was released only a little over a year ago... I thought they were going to sound tired, but I guess I was very wrong.

^ It's interesting that you said that actually, seeing as Miya is quite a big Led Zeppelin fan XD But anyway, I completely agree with you - gokusai was REALLY surprising for me: Since they've been working like crazy I assumed it was going to be a so-so release but VERY glad to be proved wrong <3 There isn't a song on it that I have the urge to skip :D

I must say though, a little pissed that I bought the B version instead of the A version T___T Type B dvd was mostly a whole lot of talking (about things that didn't interest me a lot i must say) with some clips that they'd already released. Oh well. The ending was quite cute though ^__^

but they played at a different venue so i don't know what this one's gunna be like....

Edit: for hostels... the one called 'st christophers camden' sounds like a good bet... in the right area already ^^" it costs ｣18 saturday and ｣15 sunday night, in an 8-bed mixed dorm. ^^

a cheaper one is 'journeys waterloo', which is ｣15 sat and ｣9.99 sun. It sounds like it's on the wrong side, but waterloo is on a direct tubeline to camden town station ^^"

well.. Camden is in zone 2, so underground passes are gunna cost um... i think it's £3 anyways...

there's a good one in Picadilly... i can't remeber the name though >.<
but Piccadilly's a good place to stay, it's like the time square of london... not to mention the hostel's just round the corner of the Japan Center in London, just by china town and right next to the Guys and Dolls theature (that did have ewan magreger, can't remeber who's in it now)....

prices start from £12 a night... and i've stayed there a few times so i can vouch for it being half decent... there a doughnut place just down the road too XD

I'd also really like to go to Paris but anyone who wants to should really hurry with buying the ticket because it being MUCC's only appearance in France, I think it's going to be sold ut. The French love MUCC. And vice versa, as I witnesssed last year haha~~
