Vocalist, hence he is the most visible member of MUCC.
He is the member who cares most about his appareance, and spends a lot of time on his make-up. His mother works in a beauty parlour so he may have got it from her ^^; At lives, he seems very anxious about being stylish and funny, which can sometimes deviate him from his role as the singer.
The other members describe him as being quite evil, especially his jokes. But they stress that deep below he is very kind and sometimes cute, for example when Yukke and him go to the fish store and Tatsurou imitates the fish o_O They also say he is quite sloppy, he doesn't close the toilet lid and doesn't wash his hands afterwards. And when he visits the other members' homes, he doesn't remove his shoes.

Role: Guitarist/Song writer
Birthday: 1979.07.26

Miya is the leader of MUCC, and writes most of the songs and lyrics. When he went to school he actually wanted to play the drums, but his parents thought drums were too big and noisy so they told him to start playing the guitar instead. Incidentally, his parents are music teachers, so I guess that's where his talent comes from ^^; He listened to a lot of classical music in his youth, and is quite good at playing the piano.
The other members describe him as being quite scary. According to Tatsurou, miya always makes little noises. For example, when he's surprised he goes "Geh?!" They also say he is very good at drawing, and that he's very attractive in the morning o_O He is always up early and shouts "good mooorniiiiing!" with a big smile on his face.

The other members describe him as the kindest and most caring member of MUCC. YUKKE is the one who comes up with crazy ideas when the others can't think of anything. He is a quite childish person at heart, and is very keen to stress that he is still not an adult, but rather a kodona (kodomo + otona). According to Satochi, YUKKE always smells very nicely and he is also a very skilled cook. He loves keeping everything in order, his room is always very tidy.

Satochi, like many other drummers, is the quiet type. He doesn't say much in interviews and at events, but when he's among friends he's not quiet at all. His friends seems to be the most important thing to him, when he is free he always goes back to Ibaraki and visits his old mates.
The other members describe him as quite girlish, which you might not think when you see him o_O Cleanliness is very important to him, and he always smells of schampoo according to YUKKE. He is also a big sports fan, he loves fishing, surfing, basketball and more.When he went to school, he was in the basketball A team.

Nao's the greatest bassist in the world and Tadashi is just... gebus he's so talented it's almost painful. (sham about the fact Miyavi hardly has one..... maybe that's why i'm moving away from him... :?)

MUCC is currently a major group of the visual kei, and precisely angura kei. The group is is made up of four members (left to right on the photo) Miya the guitarist, Satochi the drummer, Yukke the bassist, and Tatsurou the vocalist. Musically, MUCC plays depressive music, slower and more melancholic, and sometimes violent metal. The visual group sticks to angura kei: make-up and dark suits, and a eroguro morbid and disturbed look.

About the origin of the name MUCC. Contrary to what some think, it has nothing to do with mud, mucus, or any pokemon. (lmfao... pokemon O_o) The name comes from a Japanese television transmission, presenting Gashapin and Mucc, the trains on Sesame Street. (that's worse than getting it from pokemon... :lol: ) It was Miya that chose the name MUCC, cause he wanted the name of the group be short, easy to remember and without meaning. The "official" day MUCC was formed is June 6, in reference to them emblematic figure, 69.

The group was been founded in 1997 by Miya. During this era, Tatsurou joins under the pseudonym of TATOO, and the bass player is Hiro. They are under the label Misshitsu Neurose, just as their "big brothers" cali≠gari, a group emblematic of eroguro. The group produces some demotapes and has several lives.

Then in 1999 the group begins really to form as it is currently: Yukke (even though he is only cameraman for the group, is the childhood friend of Miya!) replaces Hiro, and their first mini-album Antique is released. In 2000, TATOO changes his name into Tatsurou (a slight change from his true name), and the name MUCC is written in katakana. This year they release the maxi single Syouhu/Hai, and they begin in July, Kichiku no Shikake Saiku that is released October.

January 7 2001, their first album Tsuuzetsu is release. It very quickly sold-out, and an in a hurry a second press is marketed in June: Tsuuzetsu ~Inshou Chigai~. The twin-singles Aoban and Akaban are released on July 15. At last, the mini-album Aishuu is released on Christmas.

In 2002, MUCC joins the label Danger Raw Inc. while creating their own division, Shu. This same year they release the maxi singles Fu wo tataeru uta (in January), and Suisou (in June), follow by the album Homura uta in September, the true masterpiece of the group. A second presses goes out the following month, and they leave to tour in November. (*scratches head* not to sure what was meant there... I gave it my best interpretation which sucks... I think they mean go on tour :relief:)

In 2003 MUCC, in past as semi-major: they themselves auto-produce, but one of the indies labels Universal Music takes care of the distribution of their productions. (I hate French... it gives me headache... they talk weird :okashii:) The maxi single Ware, Arubeki Basho goes out in May in three different versions. At last, September 3 they release their third album, Zekuu. They play Tokyo Bay NK Lobby (room of 6000 places) some days after, to close their tour. A DVD of this excellent concerts is released some months later.

In 2004, MUCC continues series together in the live-houses, with always much success. In February, the maxi single rojiura boku to kimi e is released, followed by another in June, Monochro no keshiki. A third press of Homura uta is released in August.

It is on the 1st of September that their last album dates, Kuchiki no tou, followed by a tour in the fall. This album again is a success, a lot darker and mature.

2005 is the year of the world-wide opening for MUCC. After two magnificent singles, Kokoro no nai machi then Ame no Orchestra, the group announces it's appearance at the festival Wacken Open Air in Germany, then the tour 2005 MUCC in EURO, with two dates, in Hamburg on August 7 and the other in Paris on August 9. This tour will be accompanied by marketing Homura Uta in Europe. This is the beginning of the world-wide consecration for MUCC!

He really pays attention to his appearance, passing a lot of time applying make up on himself. This could be because as a child, he desired to work in a beauty parlor, just as his parents did. Also, he is very concerned with his behavior, in order to appear classe and funny. (I don't think my French is rusty... I think people just don't know how to talk :worried:) For he does not really lack any humor and energy, often harassing Yukke, or joking. (It can't be me... :worried:) He plays also harmonica, and this even during the concerts. (I just can't picture that... Tatsu playing harmonica... I want to see so I can believe :D)

He joins the scene for the first time at a school party during high school, with Satochi on drums. The latter him envoya a map of vows, and it is this map that Tatsurou decided to become professional singer. The content of this map has never been unveiled... (omg this is the weiredest sentences in the whole translation... I have no clue what is meant :mad: WHAT THE RIDICULOUS FXCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? 'carte' is map... what does a map have to do with anything... must be a slang for something else as well. Wait... I think 'carte' means map... :? **** I don't remember *punches self* where's my damn French/English dictionary when I need it? *pulls out hair*)

At the age of 17 years that he joins MUCC, first of all under the pseudonym of TATOO (pseudonym that he will abandon in 2000).

Miya is the guitarist of the group, but also the leader and founder. He is also the principal composer and parolier (huh? not sure what that means... perhaps lyricist). His texts generally are morbid, influenced by the death of his father when he was 7 years old.

He seems very calm and cold, and the other members describe him as frightening, a hypersomniac, and moody. He is the childhood friend of Yukke, and they followed their scolarite; (no clue what that means :?) together.

Even when he was younger, Miya was emersed in the music, his parents were professors. But his passion as a child was trains, and wanted to become a train driver. (Oooooh... so that's why he named the band after the train from sesame street :lol: ) This is when he was enrolled in music lesson. He started with drums, but his parents found that too noisy, then he chose the guitar. He also know how to play the piano.

He formed his first group when it was in 3rd year. He had his first concerts at the time at school parties. (aww... :cute:) But it is in high school that he creates MUCC.

Yukke:

Nickname: Yukke

Yukke is the bassist of the group. He was originally their cameraman (lmfao) but joined the band when Hiro left, and possibly he was chosen since he was a childhood friend of Miya.

His child-like appearance gives him a wise and angelic air, and the other members describe he as the kind one and attentive. Tatsurou constantly harasses him, and this is very funny to see!

He wanted to become a bass player when he saw his friends play a Buck-Tick song. He did not want to join a group till after high school, and prefered to play alone.

Nevertheless, he did not leave Miya. Strangely Satochi thought that Yukke was Miya's servant (XDDD). Curiously, one of the few things that he does not like are the cats. In an interview he has even says that he killed them! (*give Yukke an uncomfortable glance and backs away*) He also predicted he would marry a foreign blond woman, and have a daughter named Carrie. (I'm not sure if that's true or the webmistress is fantasizing :D)

Satochi is the drummer of the group.
During interviews, he is always calms and discreet. The other members of the groups describe him as the clean one and rather feminine. He is also a big sport amateur, since he was young. During his scolarite; (still don't know what that means... :?), he played basketball, swimming, table tennis, and surfing.
He played the drums for the first time at a school party in 3rd year. But he wanted to play the guitar, even if the one of his professors thought he was particularly gifted behind the drums. Before, he desired to become cook. But when he saw a video of Luna Sea with a friend, he decided to become professional musician.
He joined MUCC when he was in Final, first of all as a member of session. (in 'Final'... member of session... umm your guess as to the meaning of that is as good as mine ^^;) Finally, the other members demanded he rejoin the group officially. (umm... wtf I don't understand :mad: So he wasn't officially a member so they kidnapped him and demanded he become one. :clueless:)

I agree this sounds a little... odd... carte = map but it can also be other things but I'm not exactly sure how to explain :sorry: (I'm not good at explaining language things) but is more like a kind of 'card' or 'board' which I guess makes sense in the way of giving his some gift... but I don't understand why it should be 'vows' though :?

Wooot! Just back from Germany.
Damn, that was some good j-rock.
The stage vas really low, and Tatsu sang things without the mic sometimes, and mucc are like ten times prettier in real life than in pvs and clips and they were all barefoot (ok, not Satochi, but that would have made drumming a bit painful, ne?), and they sounded so good and they were all crazy up there!
It was really great! Poor Pjusk was crying at the end.
There I go exposing her again. Ahh, she'll forgive me.
And Tatsu said (in english, wich is worth mentioning, because I think he put a lot of effort into it) that they'd be back next year.

i don't know much about MUCC but i strangely have the zetsubou PV on my pc and also this strange but really funny clip of them. its called MUCC being retarded and its makes me giggle so much hehe. it starts out with Tatsurou saying 'yo yo yo' and he starts beatboxing with Yukke then suddenly... Interview with MUCC
THE PRESS CONFERENCE

The Press Conference with MUCC took place in the entrance hall of the Locomotive. The four of them were aboard and the journalists ready with their questions. Here is a summary of what we have learned:

If they had to thank someone in France, it it would be the French label Soundlicious which made the first step to contact the band in Japan and let our dream comes true. It were obviously their first concerts in Europe and they are really happy about the interest that the French fans have in them. Of course their main career is still in Japan, but they are ready for more if there are some requests.

When they talk about their music style, they named it 'shock rock’. But for them, music styles don’t make any sense and it’s only a marketing thing. They started with visual kei and don’t deny it, but now they do something else and their producer still classifies them into ‘shock rock’. Well, why not. Anyway, they said that their upcoming album will be different from the previous ones and that their last maxi-single is just an example of the direction it will take.
And when someone asks them what they think about the language barrier and that European fans still sing their songs, Tatsurou answers that he hopes they won’t make any mistakes in the lyrics.

They arrived in France only the day before the concert, but they had already enough time to walk around. Yukke tells us a funny anecdote. While he was walking around near the concert house, a tall guy asked him if he would like to visit a sex shop. Our poor bassist didn’t really want to give it a try. Miya’s best memory was to see L’Arc de Triomphe when he exited from the subway station. More simply, Tatsurou was really surprised to see an episode of Full Metal Alchemist on French TV. Finally, they tell us that once the night came, they went for a walk and as something like a real size post card they saw some guitarists playing in front of the Sacré Cœur.
They had nice memories from Paris and it seems they discovered the « déspé » (a beer) and that they had a diet based on Kebab.
As a final dot to this trip, Tatsurou has written a song during his journey and it will be on the next album! Paris will be always Paris, wont it?

THE MUCC INTERVIEW

The meeting takes place in the backyard of the hotel. The band does one interview after the other, but they seem in a good form and cheerful.

Hello, we are working for JaME and we are very happy to have an interview with you today.

They all answer “bonjour”

First of all, what did you think about Europe before you came over here?
Miya: We just told each other : let’s see what happens!

A little sum up?

Miya: Well, after these 3 concerts, I fell in love with Europe.

Let’s talk about the Wacken Open Air. It was the first time you played in such a big festival in Europe, how did you feel about it?

Miya: Because there were a lot of famous bands, we had a lot of pressure. We told to ourselves that we should make a good performance. We really tried to give our best. And I think we succeeded.

Is it a motivation to come back to Europe?

Miya: Yes, we want to come back to Europe, but this time, we want to do more concerts. Even if nobody asks us, I’ll come back !

In Japan you play in a lot of live houses, but you’re not interested in big places like the Budokan?

Miya: We like both. The small ones are much more fun, while the big ones are something different.

Is the preparation different?

Miya: In fact, it’s more about the visibility. There are emotions, some things that we want to share that you can’t see in the same way depending on the size of the place. We do our best to share what we want to, even in big places, for people in the background.

What did you do these last 2 months?

Miya: These last two months… In June we wrote some news songs, and in July we recorded them.

The recordings are finished now?

Miya: We stopped them to come to Europe, but we will continue when we’re back.

Can you tell us something about this new album?

(they talk to their assistant manager)
Miya: It’ll be released in October, and it will be really different from our previous CDs. This will be a new side of Mucc.

Yesterday you played a new song, will it be on the new album? And what is the title?

Miya: Yes, yes of course it will!
Tatsurou: Aaaah, I can’t tell you because, I still have no title for this song.

How do you write songs?

Tatsuro: We start with the music, then write the lyrics.

Some of your albums are released in France and Germany, can we hope for a simultaneous release of the next album in Japan and Europe?

Miya: If that happens we would be very happy.

Tatsurou : What can we do to make something like this happen?

The translator answers : it’s a discussion between the labels.

Since your beginning, you only released one live DVD, do you plan on releasing a new one?

Miya: The last DVD is quite old, we would like to release a new one more up to date.

Some bands dislike live DVDs, what about you?

Miya: We like them.

On this live DVD, the concert is incomplete, how did you select the songs?

Miya (while looking at Yukke): There was a crash during this concert. Some problems with the bass for example.

I haven’t heard anything about that (said Sxl who was at this concert at NHK bay hall)

The band seems surprised and happy that Sxl didn’t hear anything…

What are the Japanese bands that you like?

Tatsurou: Buck Tick
Yukke: Anzen Chitai, that’s an old group.

A friend told me she has seen you at Fatima’s Last Live, was it really you?

Tasturou: At O-East ?

Yes, It was there.

Tatsurou: Yes, it was me. I’m a friend of their bassist (Lay), in 2001 we made a Buck Tick copy band together.

Now a personal question, that might interest some of your female fans… What is your kind of girl?

MUCC is my favorite J-rock band as I had the opportunity to see them. I can't believe how good they are. They aren't like a normal band as they go with every genre in a flowing manner. I really like how jazzy they can be while rocking out at the same time! Tatsuro's voice is incredible.

I recently downloaded a couple of MUCC albums. I liked them before but I'm really getting into them now I'm listening to those. I love the way they have such good contrast in their songs between different instruments, volumes and textures. And... yeah... it was said... amazing voice. :-) *looks forward to still more listenage* I specially liked Mae e, so far... it just changes so much within the song... and the bass line is sooo good! :cool:

I listend to Ame no Orchestra the other day, and realized I hadn't really listend to it before...and it's such a beautiful song...It's the most beautiful song I've heard in a really really long time....I'm relly in love with it

Mucc's new album will be released on November 23. It will have 14 songs including 'Kokoro no nai machi', 'Ame no orchestra' and the new single 'Saishuu ressha'.
Two versions will be available. One includes a DVD with footage from the European tour.:shock:
The other version includes a bonus CD (for the first press version) with as yet unrecorded songs.
and I will buy it...the one with the DVD:happy::happy: I can't wait!!!

*Pre-Ordered the Saishu Ressha single w/ bonus tracks. Plus I pre-ordered the new album. I got the album with the extra unreleased music on it. As much as I wanted the album w/ bonus DVD of Euro tour.....I wanted the extra music more. And I just can't justify buying the same album twice just to get the bonus extras on both, but I'm thrilled!!!

I have the PV for Seisha Ressha, but my computer refused to play it (missing codecs.....and I searched forever for codecs...never played.), So, I uploaded the video onto VNL videos and it played fine. That's the only way I got to watch it.

A: Please introduce yourselves.
T: I'm someone named Tatsuro who's the vocalist for MUCC.
S: I'm the drummer, Satotsu.(2)
Y: I'm MUCC's bassist, Yukke.
M: I'm Miya, the guitarist.
A: Welcome!
M: Thank you.

A: So this is your first appearance in 6 months on Beat Shuffle. Last time Tatsuro, Miya and special guest, writer Yuketsuko was here.
T: Ooh yeah, she was here.
Y: Yeah, yeah, she was.
A: She was gathering information/interviewing you guys for her article for Fool's Mate. This is MUCC's first appearance here since then, and just a little bit ago, we announced the dates for the big live at the end of the year, Live Side 2005, on this show. We're pleased you're participating again this year.
T: No problem.
A: Thanks for participating despite the busy schedule. Today is set up so that there's a MUCC half-day special on Nack 5 -- after this program, you're probably going to eat somewhere, then starting at 12am, the new live program, "Midnight 69 City" (4) will air.
T: Ooooh. 1st show. Then the guest will be Asai-san. (The DJ)
A: That's impossible because after that, you guys are going to go on Radio X at 1am.
T: Yup
A: So you guys are going to be in Saitama the whole day. I hope you guys have a relaxing day. You guys went to Europe this summer, were you busy this summer?
T: We were busy, weren't we?
Y: Yes, we were busy.
A: How long was the Europe tour?
Y: We were in Europe for about 8 days.
A: And how many lives?
Y: Three.
A: Oh then you had plenty of time!
T: Nonononono
Y: Nonononono
A: Why? Why? What did you do when you didn't have lives?
T: Some of us went sightseeing. Satochi and I don't have any instrests in sightseeing. But we didn't have one whole day with nothing to do.
Y: Yeah
A: Were you constantly busy with photoshoots and interviews?
T: Yes yes
A: How was your first live overseas?
M: It was awesome.
A: What kind of people were at your shows?
M: The first one was a metal festaval.
A: So the other bands were like...
M: They were all metal bands.
A: So MUCC was on the unique side/an outcast.
M: Yes
A: Did you do the live in your MUCC make-up?
T: Yes. Why don't you ask Taturo how it went?
A: How did it go?

T: Oh it was awesome!
A: What about the MC?
T: It was supurb.
A: Did you do it in English?
T: Yes. I even said "phantastisch" (5)

T: In German.
A: Did you learn any other German words?
T: Yes, I did.
A: Like "guntac" (6)
T: I've never spoken it though.
A: What?
T: I didn't speak German at all.
A: Did you do the MC in Japanese?
T: I spoke some broken English, some broken German words, and used gestures and got through it.
A: Did the audience understand you?
T: They...should have.
A: Were there more males than females?
Y: There were more... No, actually it was about the same.
T: It was about 50-50 at the Germany gig and there were a little bit more females at the France gig.
A: The gig in Germany was the heavy metal festival?
M: Most of the audience were male at the metal festaval.
A: So that was Germany?
M: Yes, and the ratio was about the same at the one-man gig.
A: Isn't there a sacred ground for heavy metal in Germany?
T: Yeah, I thought we were screwed once we got to the venue. I thought we were in the "hokuso no henzo" world (7). And I saw everyone wearing leather jackets, and I thought we were screwed.
A: Did most the other bands play songs that have the fast two bass dadadadadan (bass drum imitation)?
M: Yeah, there were a lot of crazy high-toned vocalists.
