Yea! It comes with those stickers, and the second part is Arena, not Shoxx. It saids on the bottom of the last scan you have, those are the stickers... Only with Arena, not with Shoxx! No Nightmare poster though, just Miyavi and Uverworld (Yay for Miyavi!)

Then, concerning your guitarist position in Nightmare, how would you clarify the fact of "My position is this"?

"If it's the case of a live, then it was there during (our) indies time. Our appearance wasn't really fitting, but my position on stage stood out like being skillful."

Why is your appearance not fitting?

"At the time when the band was being assembled, I was very showy in the beginning. Because I like Hide, I wanted to get into being showy. The make-up and wearing weird contacts is weird, but I liked it. Also, my own stand on my position (in the band) stood out. Generally... I don't want to be what they call a cool guitarist. It's a little weird, isn't it?"

Why do you think "it's a little weird"?

"There's no string instrument party, right? Ni~ya possess the cool manliness, Sakito is beautiful and above all cool. So, in my way of holding myself, I wanted a strange appearance."

In carrying though the bulk of things, there is a meaning of risk involved, isn't there?

"In the case of danger, everyone who don't try it, they will end up wanting to and end like it. Other people would see the appearance of strange make up develop the guitarists' danger (in other words, the make up will make the person look dangerous/risky). On the contrary, it isn't. Whatever direction you go towards, there will always be an imitation."

I see. This natural direction led you to get piercings?

"No. This direction I felt lead me to listen more. (laughs)"

When did you become so open about piercing?

"Around March when I was still in high school, I glued on my lip piercing during class (laughs). After that, I got my ear pierced and during that time about 1-2 weeks later, I increased it to about five. After that, I added to my lips."

Is there a significance in you being open to piercings?

"I felt this time of opening was a "between experience" time and it was "absolutely
unable to turn back" from it. Nightmare also just started when I was around 17-18. Soon, I generally didn't need a job and made a decision."

So you prepared your own way of life.

"Hmm... I more or less thought about the people that was within and outside of my surroundings. Here, I felt it was necessary for me to become determined. I couldn't run away from the phrase"I don't want a normal job," but there was this drive within myself. This was when I quit school. My drive lead me to not needing my academic background. When I quit, I said to my parents, "I want to make a living playing guitar." My mom then said, "It's not simple being famous!" and compared this with Ban and Binta-san (laughs) [Not sure on this line. Subject to error.]. My father was beyond mad and said "Do whatever the hell you want" (laughs). From then on, I felt it was absolutely up to my own responsibility. For me, this is a private thing. So, the tuition and matriculation fees were taken (off the expenses). With that kind of money, it was easier to quit and my parents were mad. That's why, my duty is to absolutely return without failure and that's the determination I had to quit (school)."

With this being the only road, your absolute success was strongly achieved when Nightmare started, wasn't it? So, here you aim for your strange appearance to stand out. Now, regarding the establishment of your position, which type of conspicuousness did you like originally?

That's not it. I don't really stand out! But, I like people who enjoy themselves. Now, I'm not as conspicuous. "You're a guy who makes everyone enjoy themselves" is not something we would like to do. That field in us being at our best is good. That kind of comfortable atmosphere is what I like.

However, isn't this Nightmare's position and contradiction from within?

Let's see... For me, I've thought about the band as an entity, but unless there's a part of your own position, the balance isn't off. There is a way of bias to this. That's why the comfort of this isn't completely bad. You must be feeling what you want to do completely.

Nightmare as a band want Hitsugi to become an image.

Hm... I probably think my character is established when it comes to the situation of my position. From here on, I don't know when I'll stop being in a band. Firstly, I won't be able to stand not putting on dark make-up. It makes me uneasy (laughs). It's no good when I get nervous with no make-up on. This feeling of wearing this "mask" is what completes me as being Hitsugi.

Based on Hitsugi's character being complete, how would you perceive yourself?

Seeing how my appearance is weird, I think this interview or MC is probably the most tolerable "basis" for me to not come forward (everyone laughs). However, my appearance is not adorned at all. But for me, I like playing with my own gap in such a way. Perhaps, it won't destroy the image of the photograph while I'm still here. It was that kind of feeling (laughs).

You just did a sudden shift changed didn't you? (Hitsugi changed the topic of the original question.)

I felt tired (laughs). Basically, I want to be in a band. That's why I feel the meaning of an interview is unable to tell that. Of course, the reason of the band is the five members are becoming independent unless time doesn't permit it. For the five's character in Nightmare, I feel more of our human nature doesn't come out entirely during this period. I understand firsthand on each members' human nature and I'm happy they show sympathy. These five people make one's music because I feel it's our way. I feel if each of us can show more of ourselves individually, our human nature is seen rather than our charm. I feel that's the way we've become.

What kind of appearance and gap are there for a person who wants to see and accept one's human nature?

That's why I want to show more of "myself."

So above all, when you're writing meaningful lyrics, do you think there is no place for you to put out your straight self? When do you have the chance to start writing lyrics?

When "anima" came out last year, the album was a "Rakuu" with lyrics... That's not it. I started writing lyrics during our indies time (laughs). I wrote the song "Shunkanshuuto." The motive was life experience, I think. However, I wrote this because I wanted to show a reason. When we were beginning to do lives, this was a very embarrassing thing (laughs). It was surprising as well as embarrassing, but I couldn't the memory of the message (of the song). So, the next song I wrote was "Rakuu." As for that, it was something I had wanted to write. That song has various things, but there was no writing approach. Right now, my own feeling, my own way in doing something is coming out, isn't it? That's why, this is in addition to go towards my regards to lyrics.

So then regarding your guitar playing, how do you feel on its influence/reflection?

I would get the feeling of "to support" when I play. In the beginning, I wanted to play mutually.

What chances do you have in going towards the mutual direction?

For me, when Sakito plays his guitar phrase, I like how the synthesizer patch sound come out. And when that phrase perfectly comes out beforehand, combining the vocals isn't always constant.

For this reason, you support the back (Back-up guitar aka power chords).

Yes. I really like how Sakito plays the guitar. He may even be my favorite guitarist (smile). In general, fellow guitarists are always playing together as "we," but I really like Sakito's guitar. Hahaha! (Roar of laughter). That's why when it's time for the guitar solo, I want to devote myself to play back-up. It's has that kind of feeling, doesn't it? I really like it though. Ahaha (laughs). I somehow feel bad now. (Maybe he feels guilty by only playing back up and never playing the main melodies and solos often.) Also, when Sakito creates a song with a cool phrase and plays it, I'd say "That was cool!" and he'd become very embarrassed and respond, "Huh? Really? ...... Thank you." (Everyone laughs). When Sakito comes out with a sound, it's an abnormal*, but good sound because my appearance is abnormal* also (laughs). The two of us as guitarists has a good balance, doesn't it?

[*I cracked up so hard on this word because Hitsugi used "hentai." Originally, I thought there was only one meaning to this word but after reading and putting the word into context, it also meant "strange" or "abnormal." So at first, I was wondering why he was calling himself and Sakito perverts haha.]

Then, in "Tokyo Shounen," Hitsugi-kun is the one who does the shouting right?

Back then, the vocalist (YOMI) did the shouting, but he didn't do it too well and that gave me the motive to do the shouting part. Right now, the shouting is the main thing for me. After, other members and I would put out our voices in that way. Although, I feel our main intention is "I want to start out giving a feeling." (laughs). Then we'd say "I understand. Let's do it."

Now regarding Hitsugi-kun, from here on what has been on your mind in the case with visuals (The interviewer is asking him what are his thoughts on his visual appearance will become from here on).

My wish is to absolutely not become normal, generally (He doesn't want to stop being visual kei and turn into a regular rock band). After all, I think everyone appears to come out from their place when we put on make-up, showiness, and different eye colors. This is the kind of thing I'd ask the fans to respond with their feelings. Isn't it true once Visual kei becomes famous, more of the make-up ends up being dropped? I want to be famous by not establishing myself as "having a strange style." For myself, putting on the make-up is all that's left, isn't it?

1. What kind of part time job did the former Sakito-san do?

I worked a chip job in an IC factory, where we had to transfer テレアポ (tereapo) from tray to tray in fatigue duty (graveyard shift). I only lasted for one week before I ended up quitting.

2. Please tell us Sakito-san's key to being beautiful and skinny.

I don't think there's one for beauty, but for skinniness, I was skinny in the past. There was moment when I was young where I was chubby, but when puberty hit I became fat.

3. When you sleep, what is your appearance?

Jersey. Right now it's one I got from a child fan. On the back of it (the jersey), "Yoga Department" was written there. (laughs)

4. What is your favorite ingredient in miso soup?

Light wheat gluten bread. I like light wheat gluten bread.

5. Between getting up early in the morning and staying up late at night, which is your strong point?

Staying up late at night. When I stay up late at night, dawn is not far from coming. My bedtime is always toward morning and I sleep about 4-6 hours.

I'm about 2/3 done translating his interview so hopefully, it'll be up within the next week or two!
