I remembered reading an article on the Internet many months ago on a Japanese ship that was accidently sunk near Japan by an US submarine in WWII (1945 I think).
In reality, the ship was actually carring Japanese refugees, many of which drowned. There is also a children's book (picture book?) based on this incident.
The US submarine that torpedoed the refugee ship is now (on display?) in Hawaii (I think).
I can't remember the names of the US submarine & Japanese ship. Any help is appreciated.
