August events in Tokyo

I'll be going to Tokyo to visit my girlfriend from August 15-25. I'm also bringing my friend. I lived there for a year, so I know the general fun places, but I'd like to check out some special events if there's any in that time.

We're all in our early 20s and more into the popular/modern side than the traditional, so I'm thinking of stuff like video game, anime, and cool technical gaget exhibitions.

Also I like just walking around exploring interesting areas. For example, Yoyogi park with all the performers is always pretty cool.

Also, my friend came back from korea talking about huge outdoor rave/house music/disco events. Something like that would be a great time, but I've never heard of anything like that in Japan. I think I know most of the cool indoor clubs.

Well I'm just throwing ideas out. If u guys know any other interesting events or things we might wanna check out, please let me kno. thank ya

oh martial arts events would also be great too. i searched and couldn't find any big k1 or pancrase or anything in that time.. at this point i'd settle for pro wrestling...

this also... search for fuji rock, etc? (to know-it-alls: yes, i know it has already happened, but the websites have links also)... rising sun festival (http://rsr.wess.co.jp/2005/artists.html) is what google brought...

yep, this too? search for taito ryokan, etc. they have links to various sport events

Hey Bro... if you wanna just kind chill out after all the crazzz-y fun and excitement, drop by my area. The heart of Honshu, Nagano, Japan--home to the Winter Olympics of '98. We've got pretty much nut'n (nothing) here but clear air (oishii kuuki), mountians, mountians, and them MORE mountians, (Kamikochi, Utsukushigahara, Tateshina, Kuruma yama, etc.) and nut'n to do but bask in it all. Can you imagine, all that nature, greenry, and good ole down home buckwheat noodles to cool your pipes after a haul through them there hills? Tokyo, sorry, but I can't help out there, wish I could--but let me know if you think there would be any chances that you may stray off course and land up in these Shinano hills !!
