haha Kinsao that is great! You and I could totally be Kozi cosplay buddies lol Your's is a lot cooler than mine though, but then again I was going for the funny drag queen look LOL. Good job on the makeup. It's hard to do the disapearing eyebrow act!!! You need to get eyebrow wax, but you pulled it off quite well with the brows.

Aw cheers guys :blush: I had to use some crappy old makeup... I hardly ever use white makeup, so I didn't have good stuff left! It's alright for those who have personal makeup artists... :okashii: :D

Now I know why Kozi rarely smiles... XD. I kept wanting to laugh at myself but daren't move a muscle under that lot! :giggle:

There's no way I'm doing anything with my eyebrows... they already tread a fine enough line... :worried: :D

Well... you could always use fake ones... once for a costume I did a eyebrow and anti-eyebrow piercing... I used Spirit Gum prosthetic adhesive to stick they little balls from other body jewelry I had on my face... unless you look close up it's pretty convincing. :sick: You may need to apply lots of Spirit Gum if your intending on doing one where he has the huge spikes... I'm not sure how long it'll take before gravity starts kicking in... it's pretty strong glue though... :D

I have quite a number of pics of Kozi when he is with Eve of Destiny - but since EoD have been around for a while now, some of them date back to 2002. :relief:

Probably the best place is his site, www.kozi.info
However, you need Flash player to view the galleries, and you can't save pics off there. In order to save them you need to use FEB-sama's neat 'print screen' tip - but they save only very small, unfortunately. :(

Well, the links that I posted to my albums, they are all the pictures I have of Kozi, some relatively recent and others old, so take a look anyway... ^^

He hasn't released anything for a while... on the other hand, he is working also with Eve of Destiny and Death Attack Chainsaw (a session band), so I expect that keeps him pretty busy... I really wish he would release a new single, though; I loved Memento! :happy: Also, Eve of Destiny are a bit on the quiet side recently - I hope all is OK with them. :worried:

And I suppose his official site would be the place with the most recent pics (unless some random person out there has some candid pics or something!).

Oh, and incidentally, it's Yu~ki who takes baths with a rubber duck... a yellow one. :blush: Well, maybe Kozi does too, but if so, I don't know about it...

EDIT: yeah I love his hair - I like the long crimson extensions he has in that PV with the long name I can never remember where he plays the cello. :D I also like it when it's black and quite short.

Oh ho! Kozi is a storm of pretty. I think he looks best natural to but his face takes make up so well that its hard not to be torn between the two looks. Personally I think he looked best in Mana :blush: :blush: :blush:

Kozi (I've given up on the umlauts on this forum :okashii: ) wore a lot of makeup in Malice Mizer... and still a lot in live performances of Eve of Destiny (2 hours worth! XD)... but somehow his look more recently still strikes me as more 'natural' than the MM look despite the makeup - maybe because from EoD I have seen mainly a whole bunch of live pictures, whereas with Malice Mizer, most of the Kozi pics I've seen are proper photoshoot photos with the correct lighting and the whole works. Someone's bound to look a bit more natural when photographed in live.

Funny, I don't really think of Kozi as 'pretty', exactly (although some photoshoots certainly are)... not that he's ugly or anything... far from it... maybe it's just that 'pretty' sounds a bit too feminine. It's actually his non-perfect look that I find appealing... it's like... a lot of j-rockers seem to look so cute or hot or perfect that it's hard to imagine them being real normal people like everyone else... whereas Kozi is more... approachable? (I'm not sure I'm using the right words... :worried: :? )

Death Attack Chainsaw info:
Apparently their vocalist is called Kazune; the other members are Shin and Masashi but I'm not sure which... >_< They played at the Co-Chamber Psycho event in summer of 2005, but I am not sure what events they have done before or since, or if they have recorded anything. Info is really scarce apart from their official site which appears to be down as it won't go beyond the intro. :okashii: (Which is cool, but somewhat... unsatisfying. lol.)

The Katarushisu/Catharsis album, and Khaos/Kinema single, yes they could be classified as 'industrial' I suppose (from what little I know of genres). The Izayoi no Tsuki album is a lot more gentle, and the Memento single is... well, dance, really.

LOKIN' ROLL IS AWESOME!!!

I'm sorry for the caps, but I had to indulge myself and SHOUT it! :yeahh:

I'm going to write a proper review for Nippon Project website, and I'll post the link here when it's up.

Meantime... well, you already know my view! lol. And the reasons of course will be revealed. ... There is more prominent guitar and bass work in this album than in his previous. Once again, he's managed to produce something that sounds very different from his previous work, but without losing his distinctive stamp. It rocks. Hard. Probably harder (and darker) than Katarushisu, but a certain quirkiness is still there. He uses his voice differently on this album, too - it's still put through the filters, but he sings louder and more harshly. It's difficult to describe how, exactly, because the vocals are still quite 'embedded' in the other instruments, but the style of vocals is more released and less subdued than in previous work. The bass lines are love - they provide an excellent anchor for all the twiddly weirdness.

In short --> :cool: !!!

The Eyes currently owns my soul. :love:
I love that track. It's the darkest one on the album, I feel. The way the fluttery drumming maintains that intensity against the heavy bass and guitar... kyaaahh... X_x

I also can't stop whistling Que Sera Sera! :blush: A lot of people seemed to love this one most on first listen... I liked it but I didn't fall for it in such a big way first time... but I love the vocal melody; it's really singable! XD

Yes, he always wore lots of white makeup for Malice Mizer photoshoots, and also continues to wear white makeup with Eve of Destiny and for his solo photoshoots too (I have impression he has not 100% confidence in his looks :kanashii: ), but his makeup with EoD is not so much "VK" but rather "goth" style which is more universal as many goth bands feature white makeup.

But me too I like the more "candid" photos, with a more natural look. :-) I always like to see such pics of anyone, because it shows another facet to their character, their "off stage" aspect, and it is always more interesting if an artist has other dimensions to their personality than just the "on stage" and "photoshoots" image.

BTW, sorry I did not before reply to your email :sorry: I still did not get to listen to Oz :sorry: (some issue with link -_-) and I wanted to make some remark of them. :sorry:

lol, actually I didn't really have that many Kozi pictures, because I had never bothered to save them -- then one day, Normphobic said to me 'I thought you would have many Kozi pictures, Kinsao!' and I realised that I didn't have many, in honesty. So I thought to myself that I would begin to save pictures when I find them, instead of just passing them by. And that's how I have many, now! :relief: hehe...

But that picture above, it's from the OHP, so it's there for all to see (although only if you have flash player, but I think most people have that. ^^)

For Que Sera Sera, afaik there isn't an English translation around yet, but I have the lyrics in Japanese and romaji. And I am sorry, but I have no English for Life goes on ~with melancholy~ either. :gomen:

I recommend... Incoherents, Promenade, Innermost, The Eyes, Crimson Star, Honey Vanity (retromantics club mix..... sooooo catchy! :dance: :D ), Night Creature, Que Sera Sera...

If you like classically-type but weirdish music, anything from Izayoi no Tsuki album is good - it's slower, gentle, eerie music. (Except for Kaikou which is more like a dance track!) :cool:

Well, it's not really new, but he is/was (?) working for Eve of Destiny, project of Haruhiko Ash. But Eve of Destiny haven't done anything (tours, release) for ages, so there's a lot of speculation that they might be stopping activity. They also got pretty screwed over by Celtic Circle Productions (the company that released Nervous and Innocence, their only 'official' release). Although I doubt this setback would have made them stop activity if they really wanted to continue, there is speculation (and I have to say, all these are speculation only, there is nothing official said) that this might have contributed or at least been a discouragement.

Having said that, they did tour in several places. :cool: If they are stopping activity, it could be for any number of reasons, which we can't know without an official statement of some sort.

Anyway, that's Eve of Destiny. :p Not sure whether they are a 'currently active' band at the moment, but until we hear news from themselves... I guess they are. :worried:

Kozi also played in a session band called Death Attack Chainsaw, which played at a fanclub event in summer 2005. They haven't made any releases (a shame, cos I'm curious about them!) and may never do so, since they are 'only' a session band. Kozi plays bass in this band. The other members are Kazune (vocals - and he also used to be in Brain Hacker although not as lead vocalist), Shimizu Shin (guitar - he is Kozi's childhood friend and not a professional musician in life but an actor or something), and Masashi (drums). :-)

Apart from these activities, Kozi is making solo work. :music: :dance:

That is something I don't know. I think no one knows this except for Mana and Kozi! :haihai: Some people have said that they think not, but there seems to be no reason for this except for some interview where Mana was asked if he still talks to ex-MM members and he said "no comment". Some people assumed this meant that there had been some falling-out, but I don't see any reason to suppose it; it could just be that Mana didn't want to talk about such things in the public. Kozi has not commented on it, except when he was asked whether he still keeps in contact with ex-MM members and he said "Yes, sometimes I meet with some of them". (Industry interview by Case, November 2002.) But he has not said anything about Mana specifically.

Well, Kozi released a mini-album, Loki n' Roll, in May. Between his previous album and that one, was quite a long gap (a year and 2 months, to be exact), so I don't have my hopes high that he will release anything soon - although you never know. ^^

Personally, I don't think that Malice Mizer in any form will ever re-form. But you can read my views on that in the Malice Mizer thread! There are threads for both MM and Moi dix Mois under the "bands and groups" section. :p

Heads up: Kozi is releasing a live DVD. :flower: If you go to his OHP and go to 'Store' and scroll right down to the bottom you can see a demure little notice hiding itself there, of a 'Katarushisu' DVD of his first live, to be released on 14 November. The store on his OHP doesn't do overseas shipping, but I live in hopes that somewhere like J-xyz or maybe CDJapan might ship it... *hopeful* :haihai:

Yeah I really hope there will be a DVD (even though it will kill my wallet and I will hate myself for spending money on a DVD, lol). I have a bunch of EoD live recordings from a phone (^ probably the same ones you have, Rikku!) and, well, I'm like a parent at a nativity play when watching them even though the quality is like the worst ever. :blush:

It's a sweet idea about the purple ribbons. I guess this isn't really the place to say it *but she goes ahead and says it anyway XD* but earlier this year on one day for some reason I was thinking about Kami a lot, strangely it seemed he just kept popping into my mind, which doesn't normally happen at all, and I found myself sitting there by the end of the day I was thinking "I really should find out when the date of his death is", because I was thinking about how all his relatives and friends who knew him IRL must miss him a lot... and the next day I went on the internet to search it and found that the previous day had actually been his anniversary of death. :o :o :o

There hasn't been an awful lot going on here, no... considering Rikku-chan is right and the dvd hasn't been released - at least, not yet. :kanashii: Kozi is not the fastest in turning out new material... It's a good job it's worth it when it arrives! :)

On -scape- forum, flowersofnight wrote a little review of a Kozi concert that he went to recently, it sounded pretty cool. :cool:

Kozi was wearing a red tie and a pseudo-military jacket with a high collar and circular straps of leather hanging from the shoulders and wrists. Support guitarist Jiro had a witch hat . . . Memorable moments:
- Kozi's new (?) guitar
- Kozi's dance for "Incoherents"
- Kozi reflecting beams of light with two hand-held mirrors during "Nocturne"
- Kozi playing the harmonica (!!) for "Who's Mind"
- A different (and far superior) live arrangement of "The eyes"
- "Color Me Blood Red" - with solos for all the support members
- When the audience called him back for an encore, Kozi did this funny little dance-thingy while they were chanting.

(Hope flowers doesn't mind me quoting him in full... i'm too lazy to go find the actual review :sorry: )

Oh, I don't know much more about that soundtrack. But I downloaded the trailer and (it's very weird XD) there's guitar, so it's very diferent from Izayoi no tsuki. I really want to hear more. But the movie can only be rented in Japan or watched by TV cable... But I think you can buy it, but I don't remember the site. I hope that the soundtrack will be able to be bought.

It's cool that Kozi is doing this... since he already had done the Izayoi no Tsuki soundtrack, and he likes drawing so obviously into the visual arts at least somewhat, and have visual fx in live show, but never have made a pv.. it's interesting to concentrate his efforts on collaborative work like this, with artists in other fields :-)

Point is...I love love LOVE Kozi's solo stuff (and Malice...and I do like the other members' post-Malice stuff too...but that's beside the point) but I can't find any decent places to download more (and am way too poor to actually buy stuff from overseas)...and I'm getting desperate.

So far I just have Que Sera Sera, The Eyes, Honey Vanity (swoon), Grottesca (double swoon), and Cruel Aracadia (all of which my friend pulled out after much internet excavation). And after repeated listens I can only say...:cute:
Although Youtube taunts me with Promenade, and I have yet to listen to Innermost, Nocturne, and any other song :(
So um...can anybody tell me where I can get some more Kozi-awesomeness?

I think, although I can't be sure, that the 'thing' he's holding is an old army helmet?? :? It has that kind of dome-like shape.... :clueless: :D

Maybe it is...maybe it isn't. My guess is that is a pilot's helmet. My dad has one of those and it looks remarkably like one...but then again...with the angle it was shot...it could be a GOURD for all we know.

I just joined JREF a while ago and I'm glad to see this Kozi forum right away! \^o^/ Anyway, I've been a Malice Mizer fan since 2003 but I wasn't too fond of Kozi then because I'm a Gackt fan~! (^_^;) However, my "liking" for Kozi decided to take another leverl when I was randomly browsing YouTube for Malice Mizer videos and watched the Pink Papparazzi-something wherein they were teaching us how to fish~ XD It was only a week ago! (O_O) I'm ten years too late~ :( Since then, I started stalking Kozi! :relief:

Anyway~ I really need some help right now regarding Kozi's discography~~~! :O I saw some torrents but none of them are working~ :worried: I'd really love to hear all of Kozi's solo works~ Right now I only have Loki n Roll and a other few songs (Honey Vanity, Innermost, Promenade and Incoherents)~ (*_*) If anyone knows anywhere else I can download the rest, please tell me, I'll really appreciate it! :bluush:
