Hey guys.
I am having to do a powerpoint on Tokyo in school. Including people, the culture, places to go, transportation, etc.
Does anyone have any helpful links or anything? Thanks...

Japan-guide on Tokyo (http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2164.html).
Japan Reference Directory has these informative links Tokyo Prefecture (http://www.jref.com/dir/Regional/Prefectures/Tokyo_Prefecture/index.shtml).
Wikipedia is also a good source; Tokyo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo).
If after selecting/organising/arranging above material to you powerpoint, and you still want more detail, you could follow built-in links (if there are any) or do additional search with the necessary keywords stringed together with either "+"'s or upper case AND's.
A Google search with "Tokyo" only will give you too many matches, so you might want you to be more specific by adding more key-words to narrow down your search.

Of course you may have chosen to stop attending classes, or perhaps a teen aged wizard :? Just wondering, Geno !

You beat me to it Lex. I had the same exact thought when I read, "god, I would love to have done a powerpoint on Japan when I was at school." Powerpoint is not that old and what did he mean by "when I was at school?" Geno you are only 17. Are you talking some years ago? You would only be 10 or 11 and powerpoint just barely existed then. Your post sounds like you are in your late 20's or early 30's or so. Just an observation. Do not take offense.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this. Time to sign out and get to bed for the drive tonight. But I did think the same exact thing Lex. :-)

My thought was, "The poor child doesn't know that 'of' is not a verb."

That's what happens when you leave school at 14... Well it would explain him having a retrospective view of school at the age of 17 anyway ;-)

That can't be the full explanation. I've seen at least university English professor (native speaker, holding a Masters degree) do the same thing.

Here's a twist, what if he really meant was "when I was at school (in Japan) ? Hmm...seems we have nothing much to do minna san ne ? :relief: :sorry:

Interesting twist; it's often fun to read into the text what is not there. But it's good to have an apologist just to keep the appearance of balance in a civilised court of justic. ;-)
And yes, you are correct; there aren't so many urgent matters that it helps to delve in trivia just to keep our lives balanced. I love the sarcasm btw. :D

Hey, hey, hey, we're the monkeys, and people say we monkey around...at least that's what I often enjoy doing. :giggle: (of course I'm serious in the serious discussion area)
I like the way this thread has kind of played out. I only wish Geno would come back and say something in his defense. Anyway, I also enjoy sarcasm as long as it doesn't get too baseless (I mean in the sense of ill rep.). ANYWAY, I just thought I'd poke my nose in here, to see what I may of missed.
lexico sama, I tried to contact you privately by the only two ways I know of, and could not. Is your box still full? :-) onegaishimasu !!
haha, alright, here in sunny old England i finished school at the age of sixteen, about a year back now.
yes, we did have powerpoint and we did use it a lot but it was always stuff on traffic and not something as interesting as the subject of japan.
I thank you all, for the assumptions of me being older than i actually am, its always nice to thought of as being older. thankyou.

lexico sama, I tried to contact you privately by the only two ways I know of, and could not. Is your box still full? :-) onegaishimasu !! :wave:Sorry about that, Mars Man-sensei. I always try to leave at least several spaces, but I had only one space for a couple of days. You might have tried to send me PM when it was full. Actually, all of my email boxes are somewhat full, hehe...
I shall make some more spaces just in case. Sorry for the trouble. :sorry:
@Geno: Hey, good to hear from you again. Sorry about the conspiracy theory. I just got curious after reading your post which sounded a bit patronising. I got carried away with the humour. My apologies primarily to you, :sorry: and secondly to Pachipro for misleading. :sorry:
well thank you lexico, i see how it was easy to be mislead by my post, im sorry for my typing, i'll be in more depth next time i post.
ps.
@Lexico, i liked your response so i was going to add to your reputation points but you were the last person i gave some rep points, so maybe another time, eh?
