I have a army hairstyle, which is shaved on the side and hair on top.
Is that kind of haircut exeptable in Japan?

Thanx

You dont think they can do army haircuts pipokun?
Im sure some little barber shop could manage it. Its not hard to look at a persons hair and see what style they had last time if you just want the same old.
I love Japanese hairstyles! Every month we would get all the latest Japanese magazines sent to NZ. 98% of my clients were asian, and they all wanted Japanese hairstyles. The funkier the better I say, but in Japan you would be expecting to pay a rather large sum if wanting to get an army hair cut there. But yeah, an old style barber shop should be able to help you out. If you go to Nagoya to get your haircut, I can recommend a couple of Barber shops there. My friends parents and brother have barber shops there.

Do you believe 10min&1000JPY shops is getting popular here in Japan?
THE DEFLATION!
Of course, many still choose their charismatic hairdressers as well.

For my army/navy hairstyle, not now though, the 1000yen shop will do. :)

Any hairstyle is acceptable in Japan as long as you are not looking for a salaryman job or a job as an English teacher.

Blech -- recently?

I have a friend that works in a salon. 1 hour, full treatment = 1000 yen. Haven't gotten a cut in a year, so I'll see him on my next trip.

Yes. When they were visiting here a month ago. It was a mullet. A fancied up mullet, but still a mullet.

Mullets are funky and trendy right now ^^
Even though i used to dislike them before, now I love them on some people! <3

Anyways I love the Japanese hairstyles too. I am just amazed how much effort some girls make for their hairdo.. Theres a hairdresser near where I live right now, and every evening there are girls who sit there for hours(?) to get the perfect hairdo, just for the night.. You know the style with perfect curls, a bun/ponytail on the side of their head etc..? Well they do look beautiful though (i just wouldnt have the patience ;) )

P.S. Some good photos with different hairstyles too:
