View Full Version : Japanese email
Does anybody know a free japanese email where I don't have to write a Japanese post-code etc. while registering?

I think Yahoo, Google and Hotmail all have Japanese email. I'm sure Yahoo Japan does and I'm pretty sure Google Japan does as well. see yahoo.co.jp
My girlfriend uses Hotmail in Japanese.
You can always make up a Japanese post code, or use on from Tokyo or something.

I would use Gmail: 2639 MB, and rising. :p It's a really nice, free webmail programme. If you want an account, and you have a current e-mail address, let me know what it is so I can send you an invite for an account. Once you get it, you just go to Settings (at the top) -> Languages.
And if anyone else wants one... I have a bunch of invites waiting to be used. :souka:

Hotmail doesn't... It's all .com regardless of language.

Hang on. This is going in two directions.
Does the OP want web based email in the Japanese language, or an email address with a .jp domain?
If the former, my wife uses Gmail in Japanese and seems to like it.

Yahoo Japan has a .jp extension ne ? :relief:
I was thinking rather about mail that operates in Japanese. but a good mail with .jp on the end of it would be also interesting :D

I'm sorry - the "operates in Japanese" part has me totally confused. All mail programs can be configured to read and write in Japanese.

I assumed it meant Japanese menus, toolbars, buttons etc., but maybe I'm wrong.

No, I need web-based email. I'm not using my own computer, so I can't use programs.

Yup, that would be it :)

I use hotmail. There's a language settings option that you can change to Japanese, and then everything comes up in Japanese. Can't speak for anything else, though.
