Theft of 320,000,000 yen from major advertising company: former employee arrested

A former employee of the major advertising company Asatsu DK, Inc and the executive of music label Free-Will were arrested in connection with fraud totaling 320,000,000 yen. [Approx $2.8 million USD] In 2001, Kaku Koichi, former employee of ADK, Tomioka Yuu [Aka Dynamite Tommy], president of Free-Will, and Murasaki Ittoku also of Free-Will placed a bogus order for costumes, concert expenses, music video exspenses, and other overhead costs for the popular band Dir en grey, and are suspected of falsely taking 324,000,000 yen from Asatsu DK, Inc. The majority of the money was given to Tomioka by Kaku. Kaku confesses to charges while Tomioka denies them.

Please keep in mind that if anything really serious goes down as a result of this, EVERY band on or affiliated with Free-Will will probably be affected. This includes Dir en grey, 12012, and anyone else affiliated with the company. And under Japanese law assets can be frozen for a VERY long time. This is serious ****.

Japanese fans have reported ticket sales being suspended, but later someone said this was just an unfortunate computer error or something, because Free-Will claims not to be suspending sales or postponing any shows. A popup is appearing on Dir en grey's Ohp, the Free-Will Hp and the official home pages of the related bands. English translation is:

"At this time, we wish to deeply apologize for the worry inflicted upon everyone by the media reports. In regard to business operations, normal procedure will be followed. Also regarding scheduled releases and concert appearances of bands on our label, we have no plans to postpone or cancel them. Certainly from this point onward, please give us your unchanging support."

This must be so humiliating for Dir en grey and for everyone affected by this. Possibly having ticket sales suspended, having to appear in court, being unsure of the fate of their label, etc... *sigh* I don't know. I can't imagine how they must be feeling right now. And if the label goes down because of this... I mean sure they will just be signed to another label but that's a lot of upheaval and trauma.

I already hear about that...it's really sad...the only hope I have is that they are intelligent enough to take good care of diru (and all the other bands under Free-Will...which are really a lot...concerning the fact, that they also do promotion for PSC!!), but they should be!!! I hope everything will be fine soon again!!!

Twisted thank you for your post. As I write this post, tickets are now on sale for the Fuse '07 event in London where Dir en grey are due to be headlining on November 2nd. I do hope that the band are not forced to pull out of the gig due to the fact that their assets have been frozen and cannot travel to the UK.
I know that my daughter would be seriously upset if the band she wants to see again had to pull out of the show just because someone was greedy in the past over how much it costs to run a band.

Trouble For Free-Will

Koichi Kaku, a former official of Asatsu-DK Inc., a advertising agency based in Tokyo, was recently arrested, along with two other people, for fraud. Hiroshi Tomioka (also known as Tommy Dynamite), president of Free-Will music production, and Kazunori Murasaki, a former Free-Will official, were the other two involved in cheating the agency out of 324 million yen (about $2.4 million) in 2001. The three associates covered themselves by passing the funds off as those required for producing videos for artists such as Dir en grey, but instead, outsourced the projects to subcontractors.

It is unclear how exactly these events may or may not affect bands such as Dir en grey, RENTRER EN SOI, and others affiliated with Free-Will and its sub-labels.

Speaking of the new single, lets hope we can read it this time xD It was so funny when I got Moab in the mail, and it was completely black xD *interesting story* I was looking thorugh the booklet, I saw this white dot on the clever sleazoid page. I started to scratch it and the black ink came off. So I began scratching the whole page thinking it was like a 'scratch and sniff' or in this case, scratch and see. XD you never know, macabre came with wooden balls.... :blush:

Dozing Green is the new single from Dir en grey coming out oct. 24th... it contains the new song Dozing Green, an updated version of Hydra (a la Byou Shin on Six Ugly) and an accoustic-y live version of Agitated Screams of Maggots... apparently it also comes with a sticker or something XD

Infernal if we let her go against the school wishes because her attendence is low, her mother my wife would face being taken to court and possibly sent to jail as a result. She is even threatening to bunk off school on November 2nd to try to get to see Diru in London, even though she has no ticket and no money for travelling down to London. However if a band are in concert and the date falls on a weekend or not when she is at school, we as her parents are more than willing to let her go to that show, BUT being responsible parents we will not allow her to bunk off school, try to get her off school by lying to the school just so she can go and see some band in concert.

After all parents do have a responsibilty to ensure the children attend school when they are required to. Hope you understand that Infernal. :)

No Rest for DIR EN GREY.

5 hints about their new shows in Japan.

On September 13th, DIR EN GREY kicked off their new tour titled"TOUR07 DOZING GREEN"at CLUB CITTA' ,KAWASAKI, located a little north down from TOKYO.

They have just finished their EUROPE tour in the middle of August, and got into studio right after that to complete their new single"DOZING GREEN." These facts mean that the band had no rest after the EUROPE tour, and not much time for rehearsing for this new tour. Nevertheless, they did a great show in front of 1,300 hungry Japanese fans.

It might be a little too early to inform you about the new stage-set or new set-list, because too much information sometimes kills the imagination and creates a hindrance to enjoying great thrills. But the band is willing to give some hints about this new tour for all you international fans, so please check the list below. These were things that happened at the September 13 show.

[1] The band played their new single"DOZING GREEN"in the middle of the show without any announcement.

[2] The introduction music for the show was totally new.

[3] They had a new back-drop behind them too.

[4] The set-list was compiled with many songs from their latest album"THE MARROW OF A BONE", but it also included some songs which they've never played for many years.

[5] The band played 3 songs from the 2000 album"MACABRE".

The show was so different since the last tour, and I would say this is something that we can see now but we'll never be able to see again. At the same time, I am pretty sure that every show on this tour turns out to be different.

This tour continues until October 20th, and afterwards, "DOZING GREEN"single will be unleashed in JAPAN on October 24th, and just a week after that, the band will fly back to UK to start the second EUROPE tour for this year. After finishing that tour, the band will play with LINKIN PARK in Japan.

Yes, it seems that DIR EN GREY will have no rest until next year.

well, for instance Dozing Green on cdjapan comes with a Dozing Green sticker or something... girugamesh's Reason of Crying and gackt's Returner both came with the release posters as well... stuff like that. when you preorder stuff it usually says "limited edition in" which means it comes with the extra stuff... they usually describe it in the item summary

Even though it's only a 15 second sample, I still have a s*** load to say/ramble about it...

I'm an art student, so I'm going to give it a critique/describe it as though it's a piece of art. Cause... I'm in the mood. (and also cause I feel like practicing my crit skills :P)

Well. I deffinatly see references or influences from previous pv's deg has made. In the beginning with the white skelenton and the head breaking apart, I get a sense from an old pv know as 'karma' (if anyone remembers the manicans in that pv sprouting limbs) No so much the action, but more so the camera angles (or the sense) I see alot of movement and contrast, that is repeated through the other members black sillouettes against a sharp white background. I don't know wtf they did to kyo's face, but it's really contorted, mishapen, picassoed, and gross (like his face is melting through his hand) Ew. But continuing on, I now see manicans/dolls. 3 more pv's come to mind in the visual aspect. Cage, tsumi to batsu, and of course clever sleazoid. I see cage, because of the enlarged bug crawling around into the bodies (or just a somewhat similar theme), and also the ending of the advertizement has a very strong gauze influence, related to all the tv's. The images on the screens strongly resemble lips (like in the beginning of tsumi to batsu) and at that point the animation is like once again cage and clever sleazoid. And blah blah blah babablaaah... I'm excited to see the whole thing. And I will crit/describe/ramble useless information about that too.

I'm wondering if some of it is cut out since it's a quote "radio edit" because it is an awfully short song, I mean, just a hair over 3 minutes. Some of the people at batsu are speculating there may be more to the song, including a solo that was possibly cut out for the radio version. Personally, I doubt that, but I hope so, I really want a kick *** guitar solo in this song and also it just seems way to short for me and the ending is so abrupt...If there isn't anymore to the song I wont be too disappointed though because it is freaking great as is anyways.

Hydra-666, at first I was like 'hmmmm' but seriously I think I love it more than the original. Big fan of the MOAB-esque singing/screaming here. Didn't catch all the lyrics here but I've heard they're changed. I'll just look in the booklet when i get it.

ASOM- always sounds great live, this one doesn't stand out too much not saying it's not good though. Love the dying Kyo at the beginning, sure it'll sound better in headphones. Sounds kinda religous :D

All their albums have their own character, my faves are 'Vulgar' and 'Marrow of a Bone'.
Vulgar is composed really well, every song DRIPS with effort. The band play really well and Kyo's voice is awesome.
Marrow's harder, but the songs are like, super-catchy. Alot of great riffs and screams
( loving Kyo's b*tch-screams). If you don't like it first-listen, listen again. Sure it'll grow on you. Whats your fave song so far?

ahh yes...listen to 'Vulgar'! It has very good songs in it (Obscure, Shokubeni, The IIID Empire, Marmelade Chainsaw, child prey,...)
'Withering to death' has good songs too (The Final, Beautiful dirt, Kodou, Saku, Merciless cult,...)
Six Ugly has good stuff in it to (Mr. Newsman, ugly,.)
The Marrow Of a Bone is good but it has a lot of engrish in it..but still good!
I don't know which one you should start with because very album is well...pretty different

btw, I dont think I ever told you guys this, back when it happened I didn't know many of you all that well so I never said anything. But when diru came to portland, I got to see them. A friend of mine was working at the hotel they were staying at (they were doing two concerts so the checked into a hotel) anyways she called me to tell me as soon as she found out. Anyways, long story short, just before they were leaving to go set up for the first concert I saw them outside of the hotel. I couldn't talk to them or anything, there was security, but anyways as they were heading to the car/van to leave I was there, and I waved to them. (thought about yelling their names but I didn't want to freak them out lol) anyways, to the point. Die, Toshiya, and Shinya all noticed me and waved back! (of course by then I was just trying not to spaz XD) and so just trying not to sit there looking like an idiot I foolishly just kinda spur of the moment did the rock on sign with my hand, you know the -> \m/ but anyways Die saw me do that and smiled at me!! needless to say I could've fainted at that point lol. I really couldn't believe it, but it really happened, I was so close I wish I could've talked to them, but it was still like the coolest thing that ever happened to me. Later that night I went to the concert and during it Die noticed me (I was standing somewhat close) and when he looked at me he did the rock sign to me :D the concert was amazing too, one of the best I've been too. They really rocked. But that was seriously like the best day of my life, that and jrock revolution. I still find it hard to believe it really happened, but it totally did and I'll never forget it!
